I don't want them to be two separate beings, like we saw in The Monster Society Of Evil by Jeff Smith. Billy is like Spider Man getting power like Superman, and he needs a hero's journey to learn how to use his power. We need scenes of "Wow, I can do this!" and "Wow, how do I know this?" as he gets accustomed to his might and learns to straddle the line between adulthood and his actual teenage years, to be a hero.

Shazam being a hulking muscle-bound flying brick with godlike power but actually being the young idealistic Billy Batson even while transformed is the entire appeal of the character lol.
