THAT live action TV show on Saturday mornings was what introduced me to Shazam as a young boy, and made me love the character (I know how cheesy it looks now, but childhood is a strong bonding time.) It might have been the first superhero I ever saw in live action.
^ Well its apparently only cost $80million. Thats considerably less than Venom and Logan. And not much more than Deadpool.
So they will be laughing if this grosses $500mill worldwide.
But yeah bad positioning right in between Captain Marvel and End Game.
I just hope it makes enough to justify a much bigger budget for the sequel.

Final budget is 100 M. Even if it grosses 400, it will still be profitable. But the OW across the globe look pretty small.

Just got back from watching Shazam. Really, really good movie. I've been crossing my fingers on it for a while, hoping it wouldn't be shit, and it was better than I was expecting. It's very much in the mould of a family superhero movie like the old Superman movies, but it's put together extremely well. Good script, good cast, Levi especially kills it as Shazam.Thoroughly recommended but with one caveat: If you don't like the Geoff Johns/Young Justice-style take on the character, and want something a bit more serious, you're not going to enjoy this as much as I did.
