As cool as it would be to see Aquaman get an upgrade that's, Hal Parralax or Flash God of Death type thing for an arc. Just because he's never had one, I think it would be cool. I wouldn't make him to OP though either I'd increase his versatility more than his power output.I like the idea of him calling on his trident though, I think in the first Injustice Game he'd portal his trident to himself. Would of been a cool way to keep both tridents even. Poseidon Blessing he summons every once in awhile, and the Dead King's trident he carries around on avg.
If they want to give him any short term power amp, I think a fun way to do it, is have him wear all the Atlantean relics and have some special effects given his lineage.
Yea. I dont want him having too much power. But like u said he's im definite need of at least a temp boost. I always viewed the trident as an "In case of emergency break glass" type weapon. Or use at your peril. I mean water covers what 70 percent if the earth. Dude should realistically be uber af, rich af, but we still get fish jokes. That's y i hope Mamoa man brings some prestige and badassery to the character. Up his street cree

Sadly I honestly think the DCEU is going to be another platform where Aquaman is more of a peer to his colleagues than the comics. It seems like the comics will always fluctuate because of a different writers. Bryan Hitch, Dan Abnett, Geoff Johns, Jeff Parker, Cullen Bunn's have all written him for several issues in a 50 so issue timeframe. Which is a pretty short time for that many writers. I feel like Johns if he was still writing would of cleared any doubt of where Aquaman stands physically.
Injustice, and Throne of Atlantis are examples of media portraying him more Uber like. Ocean Master cleaning house with the League in the Animated movie, and Aquaman wrecking shit in Injustice. He's always been rich, it's just not always flexed around its more like "it's there if I need it".

Momoa will make Aquaman great (again?).You'll see,he'll be the christopher reeve of the character.
And yeah, in Injustice Aquaman was very well respected. During one of the clashes you can do between him and Supes he says "I'm as strong as you are.", and Supes says "Almost". With emphasis.
Yeah that injustice clash got me gigiddy. Even in fight scenes Aquaman came off pretty powerful. He went toe to toe with Flash and Shazam at the same time in story mode for Christ sake.
I'm being/trying-to-be optimistic in regards to the DCEU. Especially given Wan is the director that puts the character in safe hands.
I don't know anything about James Wan as a director, mind explaining why you are you optimistic about him for Aquaman?
But I do think he will be treated hella well in JL movie. My prediction is that he'll be the 'big gun' of the team until Supes returns. Momoa probably has the biggest fanbase of the roster, or at least the most fervent. Everyone knows Affleck of course, but few people 'fanboy' for Affleck.
And I think Cavill hinted at Supes and Aquaman having an interesting interaction. Maybe its a rivalry.

Prepare yourself for the definitive Aquaman for generations to come. So it is written, in the Book of Rage!

The story of Momoaman will be that of a Hawaiian marine biology major who comes across a dying Aquaman on the surf. And Aquaman passes the mantle to him, feeling his aura and shit as the one true Aquaman. He will then take the trident and stab the dying Arthur in the head, gaining his powers.

I'm sure visually Snyder will make Aquaman look awesome. But in regards to writing. His movies leave much to be desired.
I didn't care when Superman's dad died in MoS atleast in the sense that I was sad. I came off saying "well that was stupid", I didn't care when Superman died in BvS either.
The Grey filter irks the shit out of me and the resolution of the plot usually ends up giving his movies bad scores atleast in regards to the past 2 comic movies. The Martha scene is mocked to no end. Personally I don't mind the Zod neck snap but I feel it could of been handled better to save such a great character and actor.
Forgot to answer the Wan thing. I'll do it in this post.
Wan brings in his own tone. I already prefer his casting decisions over the ones Snyder stuck him with. He has experience with action and horror and he promises a fun adventurous tone. Which all seemingly works for Aquaman.. He's also not scared of colors.
Almost any on that list would be a good fight, one on one, for Aquaman. Arthur has good fights with Black Manta, and he's basically a Spiderman villain in power level. In fact, I'd give at least half of that list a majority against Black Manta, hard.Arthur doesn't have any showings to show he'd take this group. The only thing he has going for him is strength.
Based on flawed logic like that Superman goes down hard to this team. Superman after all has good fights and temp losses to Luthor who is below everyone on ths list "power level" wise.
Also Arthur does have showings that would say he can take this group.
1. Soloed a JLA team that included WW, MMH, Warrior, Fire and a few others.
2. Taken down characyers well above this weight class like Olympian, Hades, and more.
3. Beaten Kyle Raynor
So the only thing Arthur has on them js strength?? How is he not loads faster than anyone here?? Pre 52 had speeds faster than a concord jet in the water (actually beat one across the Atlantic) and on land was faster than Steel and Hourman (both are faster than anyone here). Not to mention out moved plasma blasts and much more. He also has greater durability than any (show me a single feat of anyone on the team tanking a point blast explosion like Arthur has or has shown to have thephysical durability to casually withstand the crush depths of nuclear subs. Then there is his TP which pre 52 he couls solo a couole of white martians, breach the TP defense of a dimensional entity Jonn jonz couldnt and make every living thing for miles around feel extreme pain from the psychic backlash of his TP battle with Korvac. Added to which he's used it to worn him of danger and like a spider sense. How about his incredible senses thag let him see and hear on the ocean floor. Using these he stomped Slade Wilson in the dark
Not saying he wins, honestly its close to a split. But there is no damn stomp here
