Ulic Qel-Droma vs Novel Vitiate

That quote about his homeworld is referring to past events but refers to Vitiate in the present (ie. calling him the Sith Emperor even though he wasn't at the time of the ritual). Hence Vitiate's accolade of supremacy there applies during the present tense (ie. during TOR) only, and doesn't retroactively apply to Nathema Vitiate.

Tenebrae is even recognized as 'an almost godlike avatar of the Dark Side' before the events of Revan.

Ulic Qel-Droma is no where close to that kind of hype at any point.

Yes he is. Ulic is canonically the most powerful Dark Lord next to Kun before the events of Revan. Among those Dark Lords is Vitiate, who is "an almost godlike avatar of the dark side". Therefore, Ulic is above almost godlike avatars of the dark side 🙂

There is also this quote:

The Sith Emperor has mastered the dark side's power to become the most dominating Force-user the galaxy has ever seen.

That's not even definitive, and again, referring to TOR, not the novel.

Vitiate is not covered in that source; he is a hidden threat. 👆

Yes, I agree Ulic should be above pre TOR Vitiate.

"Hidden threats" aren't omitted from the quote 😂

Wasn't the Ulic quote made before Vitiate was even in the minds of writers?

And are we now going by statements that we know are not even taking certain characters into consideration > feats and other statements?

I'm definitely not a TOR wanker, and Vitiate wins.

The writers directly stated Vitiate wasn't included in the quote that Azronger is still arguing to apply to Vitiate.

Azronger is the only one who still argues otherwise, likely out of denial and refusal to be "embarrassed."

My advice: ignore him.

Vitiate obviously

Those aren't my reasons at all. There's nothing embarassing about being proven wrong. It's just fun to spin around arguments that go against the consensus.

Quotes can only retcon things actively, not passively. The introduction of new characters is not retconning.

Vitiate destroys.
