The trailer is pretty fantastic and Tom Hardy is a very good actor (his Bane aside).

Yeah looks good. I just hope Venom has spider like powers and isnt just a shapeshifter.

Well even wallcrawling and swinging shouldnt be a problem since the tendrills could just stick to any surface.......

I for one am glad as fu#k Spiderman's gay ass isn't going to be in this (at least not to a significant degree).

We see a bit of wall crawling. But he better be swinging too.

And I get the symbiote can do those things, but it should be a Venom specific thing, and not something every symbiote is doing.

Not saying Spider-Man should should have a major part. Just that there should be some kind of connection there.

And you do know about the Ultimate Marvel version don't ya?

it didn't have the spider logo when it started out and it couldn't create the organic webbing, but instead uses extruded tentacles to 'web-swing' from building to building.

Never going to get the crazy bad guy Venom , that terrorized Spidey in the comics. 🙁

Instead seems its going to be anti-hero Venom that fights other more evil Symbiotes.

I remember reading that they're using some of the Lethal Protector story, Where he was a bit like Dexter

I know. Im just saying that I have wanted that Venom story from the comics from the longest time , and now it seems it wont happen, cause of Sony's nonsense.

The origin story, Eddie hated Peter's guts , and was in Peters house talking to aunt May fuqing with Peter, having him shitting his pants scared, looking over his shoulder all the time.
I like Hardy and will watch this cause it looks decent, but that's not the story I wanted for a Venom done right in the big screen kinda thing.

Not having the logo isnt the be all and end all.

Yes The symbiote itself can replace webbing, but he should actually use it like webbing.

The Ultimate version still has Spider powers though right? Sometimes going with Ultimate can work better, but I dont like always jumping to Ultimate when the Orthodox/616 version that we are more familiar with hasnt been given a chance.

Yeah that is annoying. Because we will never get the best Spider-Man story and villain on the big screen. Apart from that one time when it was shoe horned into SM3.

But we just need to accept that I guess.

Have to agree, while this still looks good and I'm excited that it's R-Rated, having no apparent connection to Spider-Man makes this kinda a generic action-horror-scifi extraterrestrial film. Which is fine if it's good, but I really wanted to see a proper version of Venom on the big screen myself.

The latest trailer won me over in terms of his look, and his voice isn't bad though I hope they clear it up some. I'm still worried about the story though.
