if i was going to "trick" people into believing i was a criminal, i would be sure to have evidence for the initial conception of my diabolical plot, in case someone asked me for citation and/or took me seriously. as in a post saying something like "hey guys, watch me trick these idiots into believing _______".

Well yes, if Julian Assange said "I have these emails from the DNC, they show them doing [insert shady thing]". I would want to see those, I would not take their word alone.
