I do see a tired franchise flopping more and more with each retry.

Pretty much, going to see it Tuesday.

Then these lines must be made up?

"They only care about our WOMBS, because we're going give birth to the MAN who will lead Resistance." "No Dany, you don't give birth to some MAN who saves the future YOU are the future!"

What I see is a tired franchise who thought they could rejuvenate themselves with wokeness and they failed. Badly.

Lol wheres the wokeness? I still dont see it.

They assumed she was another Sarah Connor, but turns out she was the new John Connor.

Dont get whats woke about that. Or how that one line in a 2hour movie made it flop.

Me neither.

Darth Thor, you're not stupid, come on, man. Killing off the messiah of the series, who has been the crux of the series for the last 5 movies, so they could replace him with a minority female, then harp on about how she's the future and not some man is blatant af. And since when has Sarah Connor of all people complained that she was only ever important for her womb? That was terribly out of character just so they can have this "twist".

There's a future scene where Dany beats up a bunch of marauders and gets them to join her group and it's hilarious because she's 5' tall and has zero charisma or intimidation factor.

If you don't see stuff like "they only care about our wombs!" as wokeness I guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

Also I never said the movie failed because of the line. I agreed that it was a tired franchise, I just think it tried to rejuvenate itself with wokeness and it failed and all it ended up with is cringe worthy dialogue.

I will also point out that

Spoiler:
killing off John Connor and replacing him with a woman who is also a minority does scream wokeness. I'm shocked she also isn't a lesbian.

^ Im sorry but I honestly dont see it. The womb reference was to Sarah Connor. And then thinking this new chick is the new Sarah.

I mean its like the new Star Wars have Rey as the lead. Specifically Luke and Anakins destiny passed on to her. That in itself is not woke.

Where the woke part comes in is when shes better than them in every way with absolutely zero training. And theres no reason for that destiny to be passed on to her.

As for replacing John, keeping him as the hero of the Resistance doesnt work anymore. Not without a full on reboot.

After the second film they kept on killing him. Terminator 3 Arnold reveals in the future he’s the terminator who kills John. Terminator Salvation he yes survives. Terminator 5, gets turned into a terminator and dies. Now dark fate comes a long and again kills him off.

Does this movie continue the events of Genysis?

Well (And I'm just not gonna bother with spoilers, because it's an open secret at this point), depends on how you felt about John.

Because he does here. Right away, like.

So that's why it ignores everything before it, because they depended on John being alive and sealed away in some bunker.

I was just trolling, I must admit. The only way I could enjoy this movie is if it delivers popcorn amusement for it's lack of ability to add anything of substance to the overall story arc (like T2 accomplished imho. Saw it in the theater and it was popcorn heaven).

If I was challenged to gamble on it, I wouldn't bet a wooden nickle that I'd enjoy this one, as was the case with every movie after T2

The womb comment is cringe no matter who it referencing.

The Rey casting wasn't woke. The woke parts are stuff like you describe. Technically being a Mary Sue in and of itself isn't woke, but the obvious reasons for why they did it are woke. Also one part that sticks out is her and Finn *running for their lives* and he goes to grab her hand and she slaps it away.

As for John, it's not getting rid of him that is woke it is who they replaced him with.

The new girl does that though. She becomes a perfect shot with a heavy assault weapon despite having never fired a gun in her life because she's angry. She also learns how to drive the moment she gets behind the wheel despite saying she doesn't know how to drive 5 minutes earlier.

Why? John has been the crux of the entire series. Every movie has been about him in one way or another.

So let me understand this.. If this new gal is the new Sarah, then presumably thats not woke. But if shes the new John, then thats woke?

The womb line made sense in the context where they thought the Terminators keep aiming for the Resistance Leaders Mums before they are born.

In the previous movies Sarah understood her role as the mother of the man who would save humanity, as the one who would prepare him. She gave Dyson a speech about being a mother, having life growing inside you. Now she complains that all they see in her is her womb. It's stupid, and it's all so they can set up the line about it not being a man who saves the world but a woman.

If she was a new Sarah no it's not woke. That doesn't mean it is good, it would be like a rehash of the first movie. Replacing John Connor with a minority female is woke lol.

Seems like the whole thing is just a rehash, nothing they did made the series better or more interesting.
