Well it's mighty peculiar that his choice of insults towards me lately reflects on a past disagreement I had with Quan on another message board, years ago.

Funny how "Eon" seems to know the details...

Or maybe I'm juz hot homo-erotic pillow talk between the two?

You’re a gullible one.

Stop undressing me with your mind.

Lol, you’re funny. I can’t even attempt to troll or continue further. You’re like a kitten to me.

So what do you think of the new Hellboy movie? I won’t be bothered to read past comments because I’m too lazy and I’m inebriated.

I'm a big HellBoy fan.

Looking forward to seeing this reboot.
Loving the imagery in the trailers.

^ How much of the comics have you read?

Right on.

TBH the movie look fairly decent, but I have high doubts considering the launch date and bad track record. It could all still surprise us, though.

Honestly I've never understood the logic or argument people make that one film will suffer because it's in the shadow of a bigger budgeted & marketed film...?

One would argue both films will attract the same class of audience.

I don't understand the notion that the average movie goer will decide on one film over the other simply because their release dates are close to each other...?

I have friends who enjoy getting together & seeing a different movie
every week.

Well, like ares said given limited time, money, and inclination for many people they'll often go with the bigger spectacle and/or cultural phenomenon. (Hell, I've got kid(s) now, so I sympathize, "Oh honey, shit, we'll have to wait for Hellboy on Redbox because Avengers comes out in two weeks."). So more niche R-rated things like this version of Hellboy will obviously suffer. So I mean, I don't have statistics handy to prove such affects, but i'd be truly surprised if it didn't have a huge impact.

I've always loved Mignola's art but admittedly I'm no longer an avid collector of comics.

I've prob read 30-50 issues of HB over the years...

Admittedly I don't see movies on the big screen often.
I prefer to wait the few extra months for it to be released on blu-ray.
I really enjoy all the added bonuses & get annoyed that the theatrical version is usually edited compared to the blu-ray version.

Also the price of tickets here is generally $AU23 ($US16) plus snacks, so I often walk out of the cinema regretting the money I just spent than enjoying the actual movie.

The last big screen feature I walked away thinking "Wow that was worth every penny of ticket & snacks" was Skull Island.
Truly blown away by that movie experience!

But yeah I can justify/afford seeing HB & EndGame in the same month of release.

Same. I don't go to the theater very often either. Even before I got married with kids and old 'n shit. I'm lucky, though, my parents live in town so they are always happy to babysit for us so we can go out from time to time.

That's funny, I think that's probably the same for me. I really liked Skull Island. I've seen it 1 or 2 times since the theater also. I just picked up a used copy of the 4k Blu-ray a couple weeks ago. Yeah, theater experiences are such a gamble these days.

I'm definitely seeing Hellboy on the nicest screen in town. I'll wait for Avengers.

^ Yeah, I know I'm weird, wait for Avengers? Crazy, I know.

But seriously, can anyone find the production budget for this film?

I normally buy the stories in the trade form, They're better read that way.

I enjoyed the first two and I have a good feeling for the reboot though I didnt think we needed one.

The two animated movies were good too.

Cool goblins & trolls. 👆

I think the site only works on mobile, though, which is odd.

They were very good. Too bad the third never got made, i was looking forward to Lobster Johnson they teased at the end of the second:

And thats pretty much all i’m looking forward to from this new movie, seeing Thomas Haden Church in the role.

Oh, the struggles of being Hellboy. It really hurts your sex life...
