Well it was happening under Obama's last year as well. ISIS has been weakening for some time. I think it's fair for both Obama and Trump to get some credit for this. Though I think the lion's share of it should go to the front line fighters who have been fighting them tooth and nail from the start.

Some probably. In fact I'm pretty sure that did happen, conservatives did try to minimize Obama's role in that. Which to be clear, is not what I'm trying to do with Trump with my "politics be damned" comment. Trump clearly deserves credit. My point was simply that this should be good news regardless of what your politics are.

I agree, the majority of the credit should go to boots on the ground, which is what I said in a previous post. However, with Bin Laden, Obama deserves some credit for making a pretty ballsy call to go after him, a call that could have backfired spectacularly for him had it failed. And Trump deserves credit for his ISIS strategy continuing to work.
