I love it. Now they can either work with Trump and potentially correct an injustice that was done...or they can pout. If they refuse, Trump looks good. If they work with him...Trump looks good.
Really, that's all it takes for you? Anyhow, Kaepernick did not kneel to get someone specifically out of prison though, the kneeling by him and others was due to the "oppression of black people and people of color", it's for countrywide reform.
So while it's nice that Trump wants to pardon a person here and there that has received an unfair prison term (eg someone who is rotting in prison for a non-violent drug offense), it's not really addressing the issues, not even the issue of prison reform, it's little more than trying to stop a gushing fatal wound with a band-aid, it's a PR distraction all-in-all.
If the NFL players are smart, they'll address Trump's invite by stating similar. Sure get this-that person out of jail, but the bigger/real picture of reform is what Trump needs to actually address.
