That is not a defense. If he was warned, but disregarded the warning, he would still be liable.
hmm
There is something to this...
Only if he is working for the government or the interaction was directly related to the business he was conducting does that type of requirement exist.
"Duty to report" I think is what this is called.
But I don't think this applies to Trump. Meaning, there is no liability. Even if he directly witnessed it, still no liability.

"Look, Donald, I know Jeff really well, I can't have him going after younger girls," Houraney recalled telling Trump. -snip
Trump was directly warned that a specific crime (child abuse and/or rape) could happen at one of his events if he proceeded in inviting Epstein . If he ignored the warnings and that crime specifically happened, he could be held liable. eg Epstein's victims could sue Trump (or at least his business).
Trump then:
"He's [Epstein] a lot of fun to be with," Trump told New York magazine in 2002. "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life." -snip
Trump now:
Trump on Tuesday told reporters Epstein was unavoidable as a prominent figure in the Palm Beach community: "I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you." -snip
Why lie? Why not just say something like: "I was friends with Epstein back in the day, but I had no idea he was a monster back then." Exactly.

I'm no lawyer, but if "younger girls" could stand in as code in a court of law,.there wouldn't be certain porn categories out there.
Although I guess it depends on the judge/jury and where it's tried, so who knows.

In regards to Epstein, his victims were as young as 14 (maybe younger, who knows what he did in other countries).

People are aware that younger girls doesn't automatically mean underage, right?

Lolz, the spin. Anyhow.Trump is saying now that he was never a fan/friend of Epstein, when he clearly was back in the day. So why lie?
Trump isn't just saying it now though lol. As I've pointed out, the lawyer repping Epsteins victims like a decade ago said Trump was the only one willing to help him.
Trump also talked about Epstein in 2015 in order to bash Bill Clinton. He did *not* just come out now against Epstein.

Again, why lie and claim that he never liked Epstein when they were clearly friends at one point?

Cuz Trump knows what will happen if he says "I used to like the guy". And you know it as well, yet you ask this question lol.

Yes.
The question is, whether the courts will say "You obviously knew something was going on" because of that warning, or treat it like drug busts that use street terms like "candy" instead of whatever that was they were selling from the movie title I forget just now... 🙂
