Apples to oranges, Surt.
They have statehood requirements, too.
If they meet them, there's no problems doing this.

To answer your question: Yes, it seems so, you're the only one.
Reason: You're using a Faulty Premise again.

Washington DC does not meet all of the statehood requirements. If they had, they would've been made into a state long ago.
Congressional votes is all they are missing to take it to the next step.
If you disagree, list all the requirements and then state (pun!) which ones they don't meet.
I'll get you started:
-The U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power to grant statehood but does not establish the process for doing so. Congress is free to determine the conditions of statehood on a case-by-case basis.-According to the Constitution, a new state cannot be created by splitting or merging existing states unless both the U.S. Congress and the legislatures of the states involved approve.
-In most past cases, Congress has required that the people of the territory seeking statehood vote in a free referendum election, then petition the U.S. government for statehood.
The Typical Process
Historically, Congress has applied the following general procedure when granting territories statehood:-The territory holds a referendum vote to determine the people's desire for or against statehood.
-Should a majority vote to seek statehood, the territory petitions the U.S. Congress for statehood.
-The territory, if it has not already done so, is required to adopt a form of government and constitution that are in compliance with the U.S. Constitution.
-The U.S. Congress — both House and Senate — pass, by a simple majority vote, a joint resolution accepting the territory as a state.
The President of the United States signs the joint resolution and the territory is acknowledged as a U.S. state.

If it's about representation and not adding more seats to the Senate, etc. they could just fold the city into Maryland or Virginia. I am not stating they wouldn't meet requirements.
See if they were really just about getting the people representation they'd compromise with Republicans. This is about power.
Okay so this is actually a pretty big deal:
Devin Nunes’ Lawsuit Against Twitter Could Turn Into The Company’s Worst Nightmare
The discovery process has the potential to be interesting. Nunes has requested a ton of documents and I wonder what twitter will do if the judge says they have to produce the requested documents.
This part especially made me smile:
"Working in tandem, lawyers for Twitter, Mair, and the users and organizations running the anonymous account smear operation against Nunes attempted to have the case thrown out of Virginia entirely, claiming that Twitter’s user terms required Nunes to file in California, a much friendlier legal regime for tech monopolies like Twitter. Nunes countered with the arguments that because at least one of the defendants perpetrated the defamatory actions in Virginia, actual harm was committed in Virginia, and Twitter actively does business in Virginia, the proper venue for the suit was Virginia.
Marshall took the arguments under consideration and sought to determine whether the facts supported keeping the case in Virginia. At one point, he asked Twitter to provide to him under seal information on the users managing the anonymous accounts and their locations, the number of Twitter users in Virginia, and the amount of revenue earned by the company in the state.
Rather than comply with the court order, Twitter gave the judge the middle finger and refused to provide the information demanded by the court. The judge responded by allowing the trial against Twitter to proceed in Virginia"
LOL!

Right, DC wants its own independent power away from Virginia. Its own state constitution, laws, etc.
The capital of the nation already has disproportionate power compared to states.
Just follow the money. Washington DC has the most money flowing through it. If it becomes a state, what changes?
Move the capital to a neutral area, not owned by any state, and I'd be more down for it. Maybe into the wooded territories up north? Let the politicians work out of tents, and hunt and forage for their food.

Spot on indeed.Cruz highlights one of my main problems with virtue signaling. The key here, is pandering to social justice doesn't cost them a dime. I'm sure they wouldn't boycott if there was any real money to be made, or lost.
In the case of china, we're talking about real financial stakes.
Make no mistake about it, if they could get make money off of the Nazi's, they absolutely would. If money is all that matters, nothing else does.
And BOTH the Repulicans and Democrats (The neo-liberals are the party) have made our shallow, materialistic culture of armchair slacktivist consumers.
And the NBA seems to just wanna keep continuing this lol:
Translation: yeah we're gonna continue to virtue signal
People are already boycotting Blizzard for what they did. I suspect the NBA will be next.
And god damn this really is highlighting China's grip. No wonder Trump wants to go after them. Look at all this cucking. Athletics, Hollywood, the internet, etc.

Think Progress...Splinter, wonder what they have in common?
Epic Games majority shareholder came out and said they will never act against someone for expressing an opinion.
He was grilled by a poster who asked about a Chinese investor who has 40% control, asking if they can really afford to lose the money, and he stood firm that censorship will not happen on his watch, no matter what.
Not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, it's just words, and if push comes to shove who knows? On the other hand, it's not all that uncommon for an activist majority shareholder to actually want to get rid of an activist minority shareholder, due to different visions for the company. If that's the case, this is less a noble act, and more a tactical one.
