Yes, if it failed that would have been blamed on misogyny. Come on now, you know it would.
However, when I watched the film I let the entertainment take over. I wasn't counting the number of male characters or how many lines of dialogue they have. I didn't see the film and then say it was woke, etc.
In fact, I use it often as an example that you can make an action movie starring a woman without pandering.
Hell, even for Captain Marvel once I saw it I said it was okay and felt it deserved a sequel.
One one hand, they say you should respect one's beliefs and traditions.
On the other hand, they say you should not impose your beliefs and traditions on others.
With mixed signals like that, no wonder many activists are neurotic.
