"Impenetrable" Border Wall Damaged by Rain

So portions of Trump's big beautiful border wall fell into Mexico because it got windy.https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/portions-california-border-wall-wilt-fall-mexico-after-high-winds-n1126911
A couple of years ago Donald Trump described newly built barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border as "virtually impenetrable," but the structures have repeatedly struggled to live up to the boasts.
One of the first signs of trouble came when smugglers repeatedly sawed through the barriers with commercially available, off-the-shelf power tools that cost as little as $100.
A few months later, wind pushed over newly-installed wall panels in California.
Well, last week, several metal flood gates in the newly built section of the wall in eastern Arizona were ripped off their hinges by water from heavy rains.
A spokesman for the Border Patrol's Tucson sector confirmed the gates were open last week when waters from the rainfall rushed through the Douglas area near the San Bernardino Wildlife Refuge in Cochise County.
The gates had to be opened anyway to prevent debris from building up, but the rain did additional damage to the structure.
Republicans hoping to "revive the now-stalled construction of the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border" as a top 2022 campaign issue should probably rething that strategy.

So what's this big deal story about that deserves the front page? Far as I can see, it's letting people know there's big payouts associated with cell phone related accidents, and advertises for some lawsuit companies by name.
This is how far the print news has fallen. They're disguising ads as news on the goddamm front page..
Republican South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg will take a plea deal for "misdemeanor traffic charges" after striking and killing a man last year while driving home from an event. Ravnsborg was scheduled to face a two-day trial starting on Thursday.
Ravnsborg faced the three misdemeanor charges in the death of Joseph Boever, 55, along a rural stretch of U.S. Highway 14 on the night of September 12, 2020. The AG told 9-1-1 dispatchers that he thought he hit a "deer" in the "middle of the road."
Video of Ravnsborg's subsequent police interrogation spread online. "His face was in your windshield, Jason," an interrogator told Ravsnborg. "Think about that." Authorities have determined from phone records that Ravnsborg was reading various right-wing conspiracy-theory-themed websites in the seconds leading up to the crash.

South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg has obtained his seventh speeding ticket in seven years. The most recent came in Hughes County Sunday, August 22nd at 8:54 p.m. Ravnsborg was charged with one 2nd degree misdemeanor for "Speeding on Other Roadways" while doing 57 mph in a 35 mph speed zone.
Ravnsborg has yet to pay the $177.50 fine associated with the ticket, due by September 20th.
The ticket came just four days prior to Ravnsborg going to trial to face three misdemeanor charges for an accident he was involved in last September that resulted in the death of Joe Boever. Ravnsborg pled no contest and paid fines amounting to over $4,000 while avoiding jail time.
