How are we going to see him?

I don't see how Drax would be more difficult to cast than any of the other actors really. Doesn't take much range or skill to play Drax.

The hard part wouldn't be recasting someone to play Drax I believe. The hard part would be to replace Batista without harming the essence of the group.

Even if Batista isn't a main character, to lose him would mean dire news for GOTG. GOTG's essence lies within the group rather than on a single character like other marvel heroes. Batista is part of that essence.

Agreed with Buttfire, seeing someone else as Drax would be very off-putting, even if this person did a decent job with the role, the magic of the franchise would be lowered.

Better to kill him off and bring in another comic-relief type of character.

I can't agree more.

Bautista will stick around... but his performance and the performance of the rest of the cast may suffer quite a bit.

The press tour for this movie is going to be such a nightmare for those involved. Every other question is going to be about James Gunn.

This is why Disney has decided the press tour will consist of a robot of Chris Pratt saying pre-approved bible verses.*

*In case of emergency real Chris Pratt will be used

Pre-Production Crew Dismissed As Project Goes On Hold

Not surprising.

Ive heard they will be pushing the Dr. Strange sequel in its place.

It's really sad that all of this is due to some internet troll going out of his way to dig up someone's past because he didn't like the stuff he said.

I'm not condoning what Gunn tweeted or anything, but it's stupid to judge people over something they say nearly 10 years ago if they have noticeably grown as a person since they were made. If we were to judge everyone by something that said something on the internet at least a decade ago, literally half the internet would be in trouble for their 2000s muh edgelord kid humor posts that would most likely make them cringe now.

Also some article mentioned that Waititi had a meeting with Disney, though the topic was unknown.

With the news today that GotG3 is on hold, and said meeting, I'm thinking they may be shelving GotG3 and will be proceeding with what a lot of people have been wanting since Ragnarok, an Asguardians of the Galaxy crossover movie with Thor and the GotG crew.

I feel like this is probably the best way to go about all this other than rehiring Gunn, the fact is a straight GotG3 without Gunn is just going to be such a shitstorm that there is almost no good way to go about it. Best cut their losses and move on, and this Thor/GotG crossover might be a good way to alter their course.

Of course this sets up a potentially nasty situation with Batista where he may not want to participate.

There is not just one person to blame for this. This shit stemmed from this outrage culture we've been seeing lately. The "I don't like this so it has to go!" culture.

It's flat out not just about what Gunn said. The guy who did this flat out said it's also about holding the left to the same standards they try to apply to the right.

So if people do not want this kind of thing to happen in the future...the best way to do so is to just not ever pull this outrage BS again. Merely just blaming Mike Cernovich misses the point and will not stop this.

I'm fu#king pissed with Disney over this. I've been rewatching the Guardians movies again and they just get more and more fun with each viewing, so I'm pissed that Disney has fu#ked it over. It needs Gunn back. F#ck you, Disney.

I bet his favorite scene from Infinity Wars was at the end when you see Thanos with Gamora in child form...bet he loved that shit.

Dammit but going forward might be for the best. An Asgardian/Guardians crossover sounds like it could be awesome. Still have the two great gotg films as well.

There is still the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon. Maybe Gunn can write a few episodes for it.

It is not the same. This is not what dc fans have to look forward, cartoons. This is the MCU the greatest thing in the history of cinema.

Marvel has proven they are capable of doing cartoons well. Earths Mightiest Heroes proved it.

I am saying toons do not compare to the MCU. If you like the toons more power to you but the films are where it is at.
