Vol. 2 is better than the first one. Really hoping they explore Warlock. Of all the next MCU films going down the pipeline this is by far my most anticipated film.
They should include Warlock. Isn't that who the Sovereign lady means at the end when she says she'll call him "Adam"? Adam Warlock?
I'm assuming Groot should be back to adult form for Vol 3, right? I'm looking forward to that.

Disagreed on GoTG2 being better than GoTG. The first is superior, imo.
I used to think the same thing, but it just grows on me more and more. What it lacks in pacing it makes up for in classic lines, characterization, heart, visual imagination, and amusing situations. But I understand that many will probably always see that the first one (if you'll take a music analogy) as sort of the more punk rock 'first album', and Vol 2 is the still solid (but can probably never live up to the debut) 'sophomore effort.'

MCU changes a lot but as long as it works. Different medium, different history. What is ironic is that had the MCU had the rights to all its characters it would have no turned out this way.

I hear a lot of people saying that, but I dont get it personally. Both were equally great IMO.
Yeah, I agree. After viewing them both several times they are basically equally great, give or take. They just have different pros and cons. And they both continue to get better and better with each viewing.
I can't wait for adult Groot again.

Oh really thats why You even reiterated my excitement over Guardians 3 with Thor 😂
Your unhealthy obsession over me needs to stop.

Yeah true. First was a bit funnier, second had more emotional beats to it, and was still damn funny as well.
Both are great adventure flicks.
So glad Gunn is completing the trilogy.
Im actually gonna miss kid Groot!

Yes Endgame was meh. Im not a Disney shill and dont decide my opinion by box office either.
You clearly just followed me jumping on the Thor in Guardians 3 excitement wagon 😂
Not excited for the new X-Men because Apocalypse sucked and dont have faith in Simon Kinberg directing. But First Class was fantastic. Masterpiece of the genre IMO. And DOFP (also excellent) was a far superior time travel flick to Endgame. Not even close.
Also im not sure if you realise, but X-Men is a Marvel property. Youre clearly only a Disney shill.

I don't know why people say the second is more emotional when the first one already covered the "Yondu is Peter's adopted dad" plot at the end.
Yondu seemed like an abusive dad in Volume 1.
Volume 2 was far more emotional between Gamora and Nebula bonding and Quill losing Yondu, who clearly always loved Quill like a son and was making amends for past wrongs.

Don't get me wrong, I felt that way too, and Volume 2 is a movie that I really, really love for all those reasons and more, but in the first movie you can already see that Yondu loves Peter like a son. At the beginning of the first movie, that one guy says that he's always been soft on Quill. Later on, he's beating Quill up, which is terrible, but Peter is getting off easily since it's implied that Yondu usually just kills traitors without asking questions. At the end of the movie, when we realized that Peter switched the Power Stone with the Troll doll, he gives off this huge smile that implies "That's my boy! I taught him well".
I guess I felt that the first movie was more typical and honest of how Peter and Yondu's relationship tends to go. Yeah, Yondu's abusive and dysfunctional and an a hole, but Peter knows that he means well. It's similar to a lot of dysfunctional father/son relationships, my own included.
Originally posted by Darth ThorNeither do I. IM 3 stunk made more than gotg 2, Ragnarok, etc. yet I like the movies that did less. You do this often by just rambling off nonsense without looking at the big picture. BP made a shit ton and I think it is one of the lesser MCU films.

TLJ made a lot less than TFA yet I think TLJ is far superior. It is quite easy to pick up your hilariously stupid and ignorant claims.
EG is way better for various reasons.
1. Superior characters
2. Superior story
3. Superior action
4. Superior special effects
5. Superior ending
6. Better directors
7. End of a 22 film arc
It is but Fox is not the MCU. Now they will have control but I never cared much for the x men. Much more looking forward for other cosmic powerhouses, Galactus, Surfer, Annihilus, Adam Warlock, etc.

Agreed. As much as I like some of the character moments in 2, its tone is way more inconsistent, and it leans way too heavily in to jokes, even past the point of it being appropriate for what is essentially a cast of silly characters.
