I'll know tomorrow by 8pm eastern standard time. I'll be foaming at the mouth to **** you superman ******* up.

What, are they doing a Death Battle?

Superman is very vulnerable to magic. Hela fills him full of mystic death swords, which fire from her hands in less than an eye blink. The End.

Did his magic weakness ever come up in the movies though? Can we confirm it exists in the DCU?

They haven't flat-out said it, however the movies have made no mention of the Amazons having access to any super metals, which only leaves magic as an explanation for why Wonder Woman's sword was able to cut Doomsday.

For me that sounds as if magic was not an established weakness for this iteration of Superman.

Without the existence of super metals or magic, we are left with Doomsday being cut with a regular sword.

I'm fine with that.

Magic can exist alright without Kal being weak to it.

Agreed, I'm perfectly fine with kryptonians being able to be cut by normal swords.

That isn't likely since that's a huge cornerstone of the Superman mythos. The lengths DC posters will go to when the guy almost drowned in his first film. He lost to a water tower.

What are you talking about darling? Silent came to the right conclusion, if anything the lack of a magic weakness makes Kal easier to hurt:

I am arguing based off the likelihood of magic being a weakness for him in the cinematic universe. Let's bet on it.

So I guess you're betting on Justice League being succesful so the cinematic universe continues. I don't share your faith in this abysmal movie universe but it's nice to see it has some fans.

Aquaman has already bee not filmed, sport. It's definitely not great but it's made enough money to continue to be marvel's whipping boy. WW 2 is also confirmed. Do you live under a rock ?

I guess Superman getting jobbed in WW2 or Aquaman because of magic it's well within reason. Let's wait and see though.

I don't closely follow comicbook movies which is the logic between me asking whether Kal has a confirmed weakness or if they are just porting a (still non-existant) trait from a different incarnation.

Anyone saying being jobbed is an excuse to ignore the results. He has a history of being weak to Knite and magic. Willing to take the bet ?

I said it already and I'll repeat it: Superman not having a magic weakness makes the character weaker, if he's explicitly beaten by using something he's weak to, this just means without such explotation he could've put up a better fight. If Kal is jobbed without using a weakness, it's like dissing on the character, so it's likely that magic is introduced so other heroes get to shine and Kal saves a bit of face.

Under that light, I think it's likely the weakness is introduced actually. You willing to bet against this?

False, that's horseshit. It's like a quicker character using speed to gain the edge over a stronger and slower one. That's called weakness exploitation. Superman and DC fans try to differentiate to make it sound better for Kal. He has weaknesses so it's wise for someone to attack those rather than focus on strengths.

Basically what you're arguing is Jordan shouldn't spread the court but instead attack Shaq in the post his strength Otherwise Shaq was jobbed.

Because she doesn’t have the feats to support that she can.

She either must show cutting a being as durable or more.
Or
Show that Her weapons have the durability to cut Superman without breaking
AND that she can tk (or throw) them with enough force to cut Superman with.

She pierced Surtur quite well...she pierced Thor quite well....

I dont see Sup being any different.

She is the Goddess of Death. Her knifes are more magical than regular.

I doubt her bladed would break on impact with Superman. There is no evidence to suggest that.

Silent made an example of how it works in case you missed it. If Doomsday was hurt by a regular sword instead of a magical sword, then any random weapon backed with similar strenght would do the trick. If later it becomes established that the weapon was special, it retroactively becomes a better showing.

You can see how translating such a combination of retcons into simple speed comparisons doesn't follow since you're such a smart guy.
