Christian values did indeed help influence laws, etc. as well as politics. However, they didn't force all their beliefs on people and make them laws.

It's not against the law to take God's name in vain. Nor is it against the law to worship another God(or no God at all). Nor is it against the law to lie to your parents or cheat on your spouse or covet someone elses stuff.

So how do you feel about abortion?

Christians have launched several sincere efforts to eliminate teaching evolution in schools because it goes against the Bible, they've doctored text books and forced creationism down our throats. I know I'm in Texas. Christians have banned gay marriage several times, they've federally funded gay therapy where they shock gay kids to "cure them". Christians do all sorts of religion inspired policy, which spits on the constitution.

Sounds like oppressive speech, to me. Sounds like these Christians trying to suppress ideas need to sit down and STFU because their feelings are getting hurt over evolution.

I don't remember. Although Obamacare is not a failure, it is certainly not as good as it should have been. In large part because it was weakened considerably as a conciliatory measure to Republicans. Who then repaid that kindness by turning around and endlessly screeched about how terrible it was based on those concessions.

Republicans have no morals or shame. And its worked for them.

I was genuinely butthurt when Obamacare was pretty much neutered from the Universal Healthcare option that it was.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but.

It's her body, therefore she has the right to choose.

I mainly want consistency. Either abortion is taking a life or it is not. People need to choose. If it's not a life fine, but that mean if some crazy guy attacks someone who is 2 months pregnant and the fetus dies...he sure as heck does not get charged with murder. Can't murder something that isn't alive.

And abortion is a good point, I know some in the country are fully against it and it tends to be Christians who are the most vocal about it, and yet this country still managed to pass laws making abortion legal.

Minnesota Public Radio says a source close to Franken has confirmed that he'll resign tomorrow.

For what it is worth he just released a statement saying reports of a final decision having been made are inaccurate.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe he's going to try to take a "leave of absence" for "soul searching" or something.

Al Franken has resigned, which is good

That's 1 down and Roy Moore to go

Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye 🙂

This next thing kinda fits I guess. John Conyers deserves to be here, and some may or may not know he wanted his son to replace him. Something tells me it won't be happening:

John Conyers III arrested but not prosecuted in domestic abuse case

"John Conyers III, a Detroit hedge fund manager named as a possible successor to his scandal-rocked father, Rep. John Conyers Jr., was arrested in Los Angeles this year on suspicion of domestic violence, but prosecutors declined to charge him, according to documents first obtained by NBC News.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office cited a "lack of independent witnesses" and concluded that it "could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the victim's injury was not accidentally sustained" while Conyers was disarming her, according to case paperwork.

In addition, prosecutors said the victim had no visible injuries beyond a small stab wound to a lower biceps and no other independent witnesses to what she described as earlier pushing and shoving by Conyers III. "

In today's atmosphere, whether this is true or not makes little difference.

Where this whole thing gets really hilarious is how I don't care about Roy Moore one way or the other, but I know you care about Franken.

"someone called me on my blatant hypocrisy. better post some old memes. that'll show em"

anyway i love that democrats are shaking off their fleas and becoming a better party while republicunts are elevating theirs to power.
your party is doomed. 🙂

See, the thing is, you SHOULD CARE that a child sexual predator is about to become a Senator in your party.

I love that this is how you are trying to rationalize how the left is cannibalizing themselves lol. Bravo.

Exactly, Dems, they're far from perfect, but at least they're taking the high ground right now and showing they have more morals than the party who loves to constantly remind others of how high their morals are.

Get all the scummy ones out; elect new/better people.

That's more just a lack of caring than hypocrisy. I don't really care about Al Franken either to be honest lol. I just enjoy watching the show.

"I don't care about anything, it's all just a joke". Clever tactic I guess? But you've invested yourself too deeply for anyone to believe that now.

Taking the high ground? Oh boy lol. This situation is pure gold. We have the fact the Dems waited until decades after Bill Clinton was out of power, and only until after they knew Hilary wouldn't be president, before they began truly going after Bill. We know the Dems really only came together at Franken in huge numbers after what...8 accusers? 7?

It is baffling how you see your own tactics devouring your own people as a sort of moral victory lol. And you then say Republicans are doomed. Lmao.
