Rob, this isn't meant offensively, but why do you think in America people see lethal force a a proportionate response to relatively low level violence and do you think this culture helps lead to the shootings we see? It's O.K. to shoot, so why not a school?

They learn it from the cops who like to shoot people who hurt their delicate fee-fees.

Exactly, somewhere proportionality seems to have gone by the wayside.

eg Look at Ahmaud Arbery, while actually innocent even though the Rightist here dragged him through the gutter, his imagined crime was theft of some random construction site materials. Somehow that warranted shooting him dead to the three racist who hunted him down.

Ah Texas. The loosest gun laws in America. Why does it get so many mass shootings? 5 of the 10 worst mass shootings happened in Texas. Where are all the good guys with guns?

Who you think sends guns your way when Russia comes knocking on Poland's door?

You're welcome.

Keep it up at this pace and there won't be anyone left to send the guns anywhere 😂

Can't help but to wonder how it's possible you haven't been shot already... mmm

Get help, Todd.

it will be Britain first, it always is, eventually we will have to deal with Russia, Nato, will step in but as we know already British special forces are already on ground in Ukraine. Much as I can't stand the Tories, at least they have got defence of Europe right to a point, even if they paved the way for us to leave Europe like the idiots they are.

They clearly have not reached that golden gun ratio ammonphiles speak about. Once they do, look out crime.

Accurate, though I'd add "and sensible gun laws".

We can't even have federal Red Flag laws because the ammophiles think it's against freedoms to not allow a mentally ill person; with a history of acting out, a gun.

The mass shooter who killed at least eight people at an Allen, Texas mall on Saturday frequently posted white supremacist and neo-Nazi materials on social media, according to an FBI bulletin.

The FBI's "review and triage of the subject's social media accounts revealed hundreds of postings and images to include writings with racially or ethnically motivated violent extremist rhetoric, including neo-Nazi materials and material espousing the supremacy of the white race," the bulletin reads.

The document also says the shooter was discharged from the military in 2008 amid "mental health concerns." Investigators believe the shooter was a neo-Nazi and an incel, according to an internal email circulated by Texas law enforcement.

So the authorities were aware he had military training, believed in violent causes and was mentally ill, yet he legally had guns.

Texas has no red-flag laws.

Mostly confined to urban areas, and perpetuated by low lifes killing other low lifes. The odd sensationalized story from the suburbs or wherever is as rare as winning a lottery ticket.

It might be worth comparing every state or at least more than just the meme state, because I'm pretty sure New York, Florida, Illinois and California have high gun crime rates too and wasn't Sandy Hook in Connecticut?

The worst states for gun violence are Mississippi, Arkansas, Idaho, Georgia, Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Alaska.

Yes it was, Sandy Hook was in my home state of CT.

Don't be fooled by Adam Poe's shell game, gun violence statstics often include stupid things like suicides (People kill themselves, guns don't force it) or relatively harmless incidents that still count because a gun went off, accidents...

I think maybe gang violence too, but not sure.

Basically remember the governor of the worst state for mortality rates said his states mortality rates on maternity aren't bad if you subtract black women? Call it racist or whatever, black women have the WORST rates controlling for the SAME medical care, yet statisticians just lump everyone together like all people are equal.

Even when they are not. A hillbilly hunter in a place with lax gun laws with an accidental gun discharge that may or may not harm someonee is likewise treated exactly the same as a drug dealer shooting another drug dealer.

Ok that sounded really bad, of course when I say all people aren't equal I don't mean in terms of ability or intelligence or potential.

It's just a fact in this one very specific case black women die under the same conditions as other ethnic/racial groups, at all sociioeconomic levels. No one knows why this is, but it is true.

Yet a states mortality rate makes no distinction, through no fault of their own or anyone's fault. Yet people will point and say "AHA! Your maternity mortality rates suck, therefore your state sucks!"

Many things have similar blind spots for various reasons, including gun violence.
