Superman vs. Avengers

Never understood why people blamed Supes for the MoS destruction. He was trying to stop an entire group of destructive Kryptonians and the entire planet would have likely been wiped out nevermind the city if he didn't destroy the terraforming device. All those deaths are on Zod and his crew. Superman saved lives there if anything.

Reckless endangerment or depraved-heart murder

I'd agree if Zack Snyder didn't double-down on the whole, "People died because of Superman", in BvS. There were some explicit death that were the indirect result of Superman according to BvS.

It makes little sense to blame him. He was new to being a super hero, he'd probably never even truly tested himself nor had he ever fought people with super powers.

It's easy in hindsight to say he should have tried to take the fight out of the city, but Zod was determined to kill people, he would have taken the fight right back to populated areas.

Those deaths would have been caused by the other Kryptonians. They began the fight. They could have literally just gone to Mars and terraformed that. Instead they chose to be genocidal maniacs.

Some parts don't make sense though. Zod is supposed to have been bred to be a warrior and yet when he fights Jor-El it's not like Jor El did horribly against him.

Well in MoS one could argue that Superman at least tried. Not the case with BvS though, the people are just collateral damage.

Him being a noob doesn't absolve him of guilt.

Wow that's interesting. I thought there was something like this but I never knew what it was called. But does that fit in this scenario? I mean Kal could have not acted at all and let the whole world get wiped out.

I mean if you were in a hostage situation and the guy holding you hostage started shooting everyone so you jumped up and started fighting him. In the process of the fight the gun keeps going off in his hand and kills 6-7 more people before you finally stopped him/killed him. Are those deaths still on you? It would suck if they were

A more accurate comparison would be if you were also armed and fired at him even though he was in a crowd of people.

The answer would be yes, you are responsible for your actions.

If someone is shooting and killing people and you are armed and able to stop him, should you not try?

If while trying you manage to murder 15 innocent people, should you not be held responsible for your actions?

Are we just talking about the Metropolis fight at the end?

We are talking about the entire movie.

What actions directly caused deaths?

LMAO SM so salty.

In United States law, depraved-heart murder, also known as depraved-indifference murder, is a type of murder where an individual acts with a "depraved indifference" to human life and where such act results in a death, despite that individual not explicitly intending to kill. In a depraved-heart murder, defendants commit an act even though they know their act runs an unusually high risk of causing death or serious bodily harm to a person. If the risk of death or bodily harm is great enough, ignoring it demonstrates a "depraved indifference" to human life and the resulting death is considered to have been committed with malice aforethought.[1][2] In some states, depraved-heart killings constitute second-degree murder,[3] while in others, the act would be charged with varying degrees of manslaughter.[4]

So which acts fall under depraved-heart murder iyo

The parts where thousands of people died as a result of his actions.

I'm asking what actions of his caused deaths?
