In regards to Darth Nihilus; Kriea pointed out that he may self-destruct at some point. Wound condition and insatiable hunger [in combination] were a great source of power for Darth Nihilus but these conditions began to ravage him as well.
Valkorion is relatively stronger and stable Darth Nihilus, if this makes sense.

I don't think she said he'd just self-destruct. I'm pretty sure she made it quite clear that if he wasn't stopped very soon, he'd go beyond anybodies capability to beat him. Like Valkorion, he'd go full unstoppable if he consumed the galaxy.
"There is no strength in the hunger he possesses… and the will behind his power is a primal thing. And it devours him as he devours others—his mere presence kills all around him, slowly, feeding him. He is already dead, it is simply a question of how many he kills before he falls."
Greatest problem with Darth Nihilus is that he was unstable and his hunger was taking toll on him.
Also, he wasn't gaining much from his consumption. Much of his energy went into satiating his stupendous hunger.
So I have doubts about that theory.
