Dragon Ball Super: Broly - Discussion Thread

So Goku will fight Broly in place that doesnt exist in reality and it looks so neat it can only be done with CG.

Ever since the BotG movie I felt the occasional CG in Dragon Ball was a bit too jarring and I still stand by that, and the fact this is taking it to another level, 👇.

I know Dragonball Fighterz came out earlier this year but the CG usedmakes the movie look like it came right out of a video game.

Speaking of, can probably expect bath robe Broly for FighterZ, who apparently was already leaked for Xenoverse 2, along with Gogeta. Hoping FighterZ gets something different besides them though, especially since it already had Broly (the non-canon one everyone loves) and Vegito Blue as DLC.

I really don't want to believe they're doing the genetically modified thing, but...

Yeah, I'm just hoping that maybe...just maybe...that is how they're depicting the Saiyan birthing pods/incubators on planet Vegeta in this movie.

Rumors going around MUI Goku will appear ín the movie...

Wonder how it will go down...MUI loses to Broly and they fuse into Gogeta or the otherway around...

Can see a repeat of Jiren, where MUI is about to land the final blow on Broly, but the form dissipates, and then fusion/Gogeta happens to finish the job.

Based on how Toriyama has treated fusion in DBS, I think it would be the other way around.

They fuse into SSB Gogeta, the fusion ends before they can defeat Broly, and just when it seems like all is lost Goku activates MUI again.

Gotenks SS3, Buutenks, Vegito, Gotenks against Aka (although Goku jumped in), Vegito Blue.

Then you have Kefla, Zamasu, Gotenks against Beerus and Googeta. The only time fusion has won a fight is from Zamasu and against Janemba in non canon.

Mind you I wouldn't mind MUI appearing first since I'm not sure how I feel about it being above Gogeta Blue, but then again MUI drained the shit outta Goku, so doubtful.

Well if they're basing it around Fusion Reborn Gogeta who actually did kill the movie's villain in the end (and one of the older films they kinda use to promote this new movie aside from the first Broly film), then I can see what I said transpiring. Otherwise though, yeah, fusion will just be more filler leading up to the final act.

Fusion is as hyped as the Spirit Bomb, and has about the same success rate in canon. They're both supposed 'trump cards' that basically everyone has survived.

And given that as of current canon, Metamoran is weaker than Potara and has a very finite time limit that actually shortens the more powerful the fusion becomes, I think it would actually be pretty stupid if SSB Gogeta actually beats Broly... Because it means the fight will have to be over very quickly(just like what happened with Janemba.)

Then again, Toriyama could retcon continuity so that Metamoran >>>> Potara for the purposes of this movie. The dude is a total wildcard... You never know what asspull is coming next. /shrug

I mean MUI wears him out enough that it's doubtful he has enough energy to fuse with Veg once it wears off.

It has to be fusion then MUI... or at least, it should be.

A few notes from a recent interview with the film's production staff:

"This film is very emotional. You will cry in the first 20-30 minutes."

"Vegeta's real cool in the film too; it's a change of pace from him lately just being used for gags and/or getting beat up." <----- That one made me chuckle.

"Vegeta's battle with Broly will have an incredible sense of speed. Even just a moment's image contains an entire TV episode worth of images."

"There will be lots of characters besides just the usual suspects, and Paragus will be tragic this time around."

I hope they don't break my heart with their Vegeta hype.

Paranoid Frieza fans be thinking “Are they gonna kill him in the first 30 minutes?!”.

Hard to think or imagine what would really give feels that early in the film though. A flashback death of Goku’s mother Gine perhaps? Or something saiyan death related.

I'd guess it will have something to do with their retelling of Minus. Most likely Bardock and Gine sending Goku to earth just before the planet goes kablooey.

Also, they're having a pre-release viewing of this movie on November 14th in Japan(a month before it actually comes out in theaters)... So I'd imagine there will be spoilers as early as that.
