I have no doubt that the intent if this film is for Broly to be more powerful than Jiren, but I'm curious what Broly will actually do that puts him beyond Jiren, given the asinine multipliers/powerups we saw during the ToP..?
I guess beating SSB Gogeta, and/or an actual statement that Broly > Beerus would be enough. /shrug

If so, then they have a terrible way of showing it.
Putting him against some f*cking nerfed version of the SSJB transformation just sucks, I mean.
Especially now... Goku and Vegeta have not only perfected this state, but advanced beyond it. Ki drain being an issue is ridiculous, unless Broly is some kind of a ki vampire 😂
Originally posted by StiltmanFTWSee, Jiren was capable of ragdolling SSB/KK Goku + ASSB Vegeta after barely even powering up. So even IF ki drain weren't an issue here(and I'm hoping it won't actually end up being *as* much of an issue as we're suspecting), Broly trouncing the SSB duo STILL wouldn't put him even remotely close to FP Jiren-level... Much less beyond it.

I'm assuming there will be a comment or two about Broly's power in this. Something like: "He's even stronger than Jiren", or "He's even stronger than Beerus", or "He has the most powerful ki I've ever felt!"
...In addition to him beating Gogeta.
Toriyama is ignoring the Manga and the Anime, so whatever. Seems this is going the way of all the Super movies - canon until something else comes out.
If he beats up Goku Blanco though, then we'll know. I wouldn't mind Goku and Vegeta actually giving him hell though before Vegeta goes to sleep. Fix it in the retellings, make no sense now imo.
Still think if it does go to fusion it goes:
We're losing let's fuse
We're winning but fusion ran out
We got no chance
Goku Blanco arrives
Goku Blanco leaves
Green girl calms down Broly and they leave.
Hopefully they don't go into "we ran out of time, he's getting one shotted" like the old movies.
Metamoran fusion is stupid anyway, because unless Gogeta is asininely more powerful than Broly, it won't last long enough to matter.
Even the power of SSJ3 shortened Gotenks' Metamoran fusion down to just 5mins. Hell, SSB was so powerful that it even shortened the duration of Potara fusion down to a few minutes as well(even though the Kaioshin thought it'd last an hour.) There's also the fact that Metamoran is canonically a good deal weaker than Potara.
...Not that previously established shit matters here. Toriyama is going to do whatever the phuck he wants. /shrug

Could be explained as the God power playing havok on the earrings while not actually being a God? Fukt if I know. There are reasons there, we just didn't get any.
With Gotenks, the power output of SSJ3 is what shortened the fusion down to 5mins. Given the output of SSB, the fusion should realistically only last a few seconds... Though I doubt that'll be the case. Maybe because it's 'divine ki', it won't affect the fusion's time-limit the same way... Maybe.
Still an asspull, though... Just like Goku and Vegeta randomly perfecting the fusion dance in the first place.
He did.
But Vegeta watching the boys do the dance a few times from the Afterlife shouldn't equate to him being able to pull a fully perfected fusion dance out of his ass several years later, imo. At least in Goku's case, he'd *actually* been taught the fusion dance straight from the Metamorans themselves, and had *actually* practiced/mastered it.
The other alternative is that Vegeta and Goku have been practicing the fusion dance in their spare time "just in case."
Don't know which scenario I'd rather see play out, tbh. Either way, fusion just seems like a tremendously OOC asspull at this point.
