Also, the differences between each tier get progressively more massive the higher you get. So Vader hitting tier 10 repeatedly is far beyond anything ROTS Sidious has to claim. The only argument is how much did Sheev really grow afterwards.

For all the arguments against Knightfall Vader, I've still yet to see anything beyond Mastery of the Force arguments. Which are neither genuine in terms of accolades nor really relevant.

Knightfall Vader is still the GOAT.

Anakin was a ten on a different tier system. Not on the finalized version where he is simply stated to be a nine. In the finalized tier system, tier 10 doesn't exist. Anakin is simply a nine and the notion of him being >>Yoda or Sidious remains wholly baseless.

... what? Tier 10 exists in the final version.

Yeah, the early version was only 7 tiers, with 8 being a "cheat" tier.

The latest I believe was in fact 9 tiers, and NG later stated that Anakin was pretty much a 10, or at least tapping in the realm of 10.

He based it off numbers given to him by Lucas. They agreed on that tier system.

Proof?

Unless Lucas said it, its irrelevant.

That's genuinely pathetic. Gillard got his own rankings by consulting Lucas and spent time on the fvcking game getting every single character down to level based straight off of the script before the film itself.

Who cares. He's just a stunt coordinator.

Maybe we should ask the makeup guys how strong Anakin is next.

I'm actually laughing at your attempts to dismiss him.

The story group still uses Gillard's list to level characters.

He factually has no authority to make statements about in-universe characters or events.

He's literally just revealing what GEORGE LUCAS and he decided upon for each character. He clearly continued to adapt the lists as production went on.

Just stop.

If you can find statements from Lucas then that's cool. Or any other kind of official proof. I'm also still waiting for what he actually said.

Until then....

😂

"The fighting has evolved in these last three movies considerably," says Gillard. "George Lucas works on a system of levels. So, on The Phantom Menace Obi-Wan would have been like a level six or seven. Now that we're on Episode III he's actually a level eight. When you move up the levels, it affects the style of fighting."

Lol, that's it?

That's the only proof you have?

That quote makes it sound like the tiers are just a vague outline, not something one must strictly follow.

They are. He's talking about the stunts, not any in-universe canon system.

Maybe because he's a stunt coordinator.

No. George Lucas created the tier system so that Nick Gillard would have an idea on what to do for the fights and character styles.

The tier system would be G-Canon.

The stated reason for the tier systems:

"How does one quantify fighting prowess, and does such a quantity have any practical value? When Stunt Coordinator and Sword Master Nick Gillard sets down to script a lightsaber duel, he needs to have some guage as to how competent the combatants are. On equal-footing, such ranking could easily determine the victor."

It has little to do with stunts. It's perfect for something like forum debates.
