Perhaps it's because the point is about DGUs which include weapon discharges and not weapon discharges. We've only focused on just weapon discharges. I've demonstrated how we can extrapolate that data to the entire US and we have a rough figure of 19 million. You already agreed criminal, and DGUs will be roughly the same (frothing, foaming, etc.).

Now, I am going to address your calculations and explain why they make no sense. So, you figure out the number of gunshots per year. Then you divide the number of cities by 30. And then multiply there result. This is the part where I get confused. How do we reach this number? Regardless, you come up with an estimate of the number of firings each year. But, we cannot arbitrarily delegate the amount of DGUS there are based on that stat. But here is what we know. According to police reports, there are about 2,000 violent DGUs a year. That is about 20% of actual DGUS. Like this, we can conclude there are about 10,000 violent DGUS a year. Obviously, this is extraordinarily rough, but it should be somewhere in the ballpark. I see no reason to continue discussing on KMC. I'd rather move the discussion to hangouts. Please don't respond, and we can on there if you are interested.
