I'm still waiting for the movie where Superman speedblitzes all his opponents every time and never lets up. It doesn't happen. Thor is also durable enough even if speedblitzed to do enough AOE damage to Superman to get some hits. Fact is Superman isn't going to start the fight blitzing and if he's not Careful Thor just needs one hit with SB, or one throw.
Granted as I said a while back Superman will take a majority but only fanboys think Thor won't get some wins.
But hey, the only important stat is Thor is becoming a more beloved cultural icon than Superman thanks to the MCU. When Thor arrived in Wakanda the entire theater errupted with praise. When Superman died in BVS and when he came back in JL, there was nothing. People don't care about Cavillman and that's a shame.

Thor actually has more feats of utilizing AOE's and spamming lightning than Superman does of speedblitzing opponents. And yet people act like Thor rarely AOE's while in the same sentence insists that Superman will speedblitz the entire match.

Thor multidirectional attacked (not AOE) a few times. The attack was sometimes slow (he jumped and landed to do it) and it was always done to defeat multiple beings, not a single being (because that would be stupid).
But most importantly, I don’t know of any feats by the multidirectional lightning (or single lightning blast) to give evidence that it will affect Superman significantly. It greatly affected fodder but not greatly affected anyone of significance (Surtur, Hela, Thanos, etc).
At best it can make Superman pause for a couple of seconds.

Superman tanked a planet buster, no way Thor even scratch's him. More likely Superman destroys Mjolaxe.
