Korean Peace Talks

Actually, that's part of influencing people to do what you want. When you leave a sales discussion with a major client and it ends on a very clear positive note but the details have not been solidified, you're supposed to speak and operate under the notion that it is a done deal (but stay away from details) while complimenting the client.

You're supposed to reinforce the client's decision that it's clearly a good move/smart move while talking about how you're looking forward to ironing out the details.

This is Trump the businessman talking.

I get that, just as I get why Trump was practically licking Kim's anus in praising him and his skills, after the insults and calling him a monster or such previously. It's funny, but it's a tactic. Remember when Obama praised Iran for being a willing player? Republicans attacked him for that praise, but it was part of the deal making.

If it works, great. If it doesn't, it's going to look very, very poorly on Trump.

A South Korean newspaper is saying that Trump gave Kim everything he wanted...not the porn star Kim. The little Rocket Man one:

That's not a visual anyone needs. How dare you.

But it's the one we deserve.

Every Trumper should read that

In short, it represents no progress and achieves nothing. Already, when faced with criticism over the vagueness of the inter-Korean declaration, Cheong Wa Dae officials said specific agreements would be made between the U.S. and North Korea. That is what the public believed, and that is why they have been let down. Over the last few months, Trump has made increasingly bombastic vows to scrap North Korea's nuclear weapons as soon as possible, but now there is no deadline to be found anywhere, and instead Trump is talking about real estate development on North Korea's coast. -snip

This is the worst outcome for South Korea. It has long been the strategy of the Kim dynasty to sit down for one-on-one talks with the U.S. and bypass South Korea. Whatever one may think of him, the young North Korean leader has made an incredible achievement simply by getting Trump to meet him. Everyone expected him to make major concessions to accomplish it, but no -- a closer look at the joint agreement shows it was Kim who ended up taking home the prize. It is simply unbelievable that Trump flew all the way to Singapore to end up with the short end of the stick. -snip

At this rate, the U.S. is on the road to accepting North Korea as nuclear-armed state. That is what happened with India and Pakistan, and it can happen again. Trump said he would continue to meet Kim in Pyongyang and Washington, but those talks are highly likely to focus on arms reduction, not disarmament, which is exactly what Kim wanted. -snip

LoL, so it seems Basher was spot on thus far:

North Korea's demolition of its only nuclear test site may have just been a show for the cameras

North Korea recently claimed to have destroyed its only nuclear test site and let journalists record the process, but intelligence assessments suggest this may have just been a show for the cameras. -snip

But many were skeptical of whether North Korea properly dismantled its test site, given that no weapons inspectors or nonproliferation experts were allowed to observe its destruction. -snip

The explosions at the tunnels of the mountainous Punggye-ri test site appeared to have been "too small" to have collapsed them in a significant way, an international arms control official told CNN. -snip

Reagan had borrowed the stance of "Trust but verify" in regards to denuclearization. Trump seems to be going with "Kimmy said so and we're friends now and he's a great guy so it's cool." The Cult of Trump will go along.

#3: Quotation Marks Can Communicate Sarcasm and Irony
One of the greatest virtues of quotation marks in our language is that they can become the body language and facial expressions of the written word. They can make any word sarcastic or ironic, like in this sentence:

Your freshly made “bread” kept my bowels churning all night.

Sometimes, people put words in quotes to mock an intended party. Sarcasm, to emphasize irony, etc. It's to make fun of or mock the target.
