Ego is supremely powerful, I'll give you that. The issue is that once anything goes inside of Ego, he's ****ed. It even says right there that Thor struck his core while inside Ego. Ego's defeats aren't really applicable to other beings. Is Thor going to go inside Superman for example and blast his core with thermo blasts?
Ego inviting people into himself has rarely ever worked. Ego from a distance is very powerful. Ego on the surface is a bit less so, but not as bad. Inside of Ego is just waiting for him to get ****ed.
Ego is essentially every story where a hero goes inside a villian and punches them in the bladder.

Unless he was actually that big in that comic, which he wasn't, then that would only be applicable to that issue. Meaning he got a one time powerup and was never shown it again.

It's diameter is 4165 miles while Earth has a diameter of around 8000 miles. Also that was a web comic and it's canonicity is dubious.
