I saw people shit their pants over this, like the trailer was awesome.I just watched it.
Um. What am I missing here? It looks awful. Like some college students decided to do a film project with a dude trying to somewhat imitate Ledger Joker.
And no scenes of him doing..Joker stuff. And no "joker stuff' isn't just him laughing like a douche while people pound on him. No clever gadgets? No joker gas? Nothing? If these things are in the movie, a glimpse would have been nice.
They're actually taking some elements from the Killing Joke by Alan Moore.

But I have the feeling that they will do something corny , like in this version of The joker is going to be the inspiration of the real joker in the end. Probably a young joker is inspired by what happens in this movie and decides to become the real joker we all know , wearing the clown makeup and all that.
Ugh. Thats the route they took in Gotham. Its a complete cop out. And completely unnecessary.
Lol! Are you talking about this theory?
Holmes goes on to postulate that, whoever Phoenix’s Joker is, he’s merely the inspiration for whoever becomes the actual Joker—kind of how rapper 50 Cent took his moniker from a legendary Bronx drug dealer. Look, I’m not saying it’s a flawless theory, but we’ve heard stranger. Plus, such an angle would still maintain the original Joker of comic book fame’s mysterious, unknown origins.
I think that's already been debunked.

To be fair now, that's exactly who the Joker was before he became a supervillain. Also, it's not going to be a part of DCEU, afaik. They're going back to making solo films not connected with each other, aren't they?
Originally posted by StiltmanFTWOh no idea I never paid attention to the character outside the film and a few major dc story arcs. I just meant films. I always thought this character was lame. He is so sensitive and wimpy. F nboys scream they want more. He could self harm the entire film and kill one guy at the end and they would scream Oscar.
I meant the source material. The Killing Joke has shown us how Joker started as a caring husband with a failed career as a comedian. So, it's accurate.
Only he's a street performer and a momma's boy in this one.
Joker sells, but they can't milk him forever.
Yet that's what they keep doing.
- Gotham TV series is going to introduce their new "real" Joker soon (it had several wannabes before)
- The Killing Joke was already rehashed less than 3 years ago
- DCEU Jared Joker happened, even though DC fanboys would love to forget it did
House of ideas, DC is not.
Originally posted by StiltmanFTWI guess but the budget is so low for this film it almost cannot fail. Batman also sells but the JL was a wake up call that their same old routine is not working.

Most of it is so bad but if I am being honest I love when it stutters and disappoints their fans. It is of lesser quality it deserves to fail.
