Nobody here is behaving this way over the movie. In fact, in general only a small percentage of those who didn't like the movie behaved the way you describe.

as someone registered in 2008 when the SW prequel forum was still one of the beating hearts of this kmc, you were completely absent from it. Maybe you're just a classic trilogy fan and never liked the prequels? If so, we're ironically kindred spirits in that regard; but I digress...

assuming you are my type of SW fan (high-five, if so), why have you never voiced your opinions there? your opinion would have been welcomed by me (and the 2 or 3 other people brave enough to deal with the mass-drama queen tantrums brought on by any PT criticism), I can say for certain. can't help but suspect that you never really gave a rats ass about SW until you were programmed to.

I enjoy the OT more than any other. More specifically eps 5 and 6. For the prequels Ep 3 is quality, minus all the scenes with Padme and Anakin(besides when he chokes her). I enjoy the cartoons(both clone wars cartoons) and the video games and some books too.

As for why I don't post in the SW's forum, meh. I tend not to post much in forums dedicated so specific franchises or characters. I have posted a few times in the SW forum, but not much. I have posted a bit in the Star Trek forum, but again not much. And I barely have posted anything in the Harry Potter or Superman forums. Also the way the SW's forum is talked about here and how toxic it is did not make me eager to go there.

As for being programmed to care, nah. I have given a rats ass about the franchise for a long time. I remember excitedly ordering the OT on VHS in order to see the extra footage that was supposed to be on there.

ah good, so it's safe to say that there have been at least 4 star wars film released after you first lost interest and said "meh". you couldn't have given a rat's ass about SW, let alone hate it so much that you need to seek out other peers for which to share your deep resentments with.

I didn't lose interest. If I did I wouldn't have watched the newer films.

I don't know why this makes you so bitter and angry. You seem eager to paint me as someone who doesn't like the latest films cuz of politics.

i'm willing to admit that my time invested here is solely to engage and pick the brains of this new wave permatriggered culture. if ep9 is enjoyable i will be pleasantly surprised, but i'm so used to star wars failing that i won't even experience mild disappointment when it happens in december. 20 years of disappointment-tempering of my patience will do that. but yet here you are, caring super hard, all of the sudden, about eps 8&9? what happened that made these so special to hate beyond your capacity to fully express? certainly not political radicalization...so then what? did you recently go back to school as a film major? please explain your late-blooming passion for this age-old space opera... 🙂
