I particularly enjoy the scenes where Ripley whines about the patriarchy and tells the men around her she doesn't need them and can kill the aliens all by herself.

Speaking of women, I do hope Rey is better written in this one. One of the few good things about TLJ, imo, was that they toned down her mary-sueness and gave her more of an interesting arc, and I do hope they resolve everything at least somewhat satisfactorily for her.
I've lost any hope that Finn or Poe will live up to their early promise, though.

How did they tone down her Mary Sueness? She learned nothing from Luke, went straight for the Dark side without even trying to resist the temptation, scolded him for his treatment of Kylo, assaulted him, and left. Then Luke decided she was right for some reason and killed himself to save 12 nobodies in a cave and Leia.
There's also the scene in which Snoke explains that Rey was just auto-leveled to Kylo's level because that's how the Balance(tm) works now. So while Kylo had to train hard under Luke and Snoke to become powerful Rey became his equal because of a Force equal opportunities program.
TLJ is a horrible, horrible mess.
