Homo sapiens sapiens never truly mature.

...

Explains why we've spent the last decade on KMC, btw.

Agreed.

I tend to believe that Star Wars indeed have been the most toxic of fans in any genre.

Abrams ****ed up Star Trek and Star Wars. He should be taken to the middle of nowhere and left for dead imo

If you listen to the commentary Abrams even says he was trying to make Star Trek more like Star Wars. He didn't understand the differences between the two are what make them both great. Trying to make them more alike is not the answer.

But they have a damn good reason to be so toxic.

Look at MCU. It keeps flourishing. Why? Because they actually use and respect the source material.

Star Wars could've easily done the same (look at Rogue One), yet they decided to discard all of its history, so they could try their own thing.

It was a bold move. A very bold move. Which turned out to be dumb as fuck, as they literally had no idea what they were doing.

They were never interested in respecting or honoring what came before, it was all about making their mark by any means necessary.

Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to

The strange part about a lot of the self-proclaimed Star Wars 'purists' is that they will never be able to see beyond their hatred of the ST films. Disney could do 100 things right after this, but the failure of the ST is all some of these people will ever see, and all they will ever judge Disney canon on.

That being said, I still don't think they're *the* most toxic fanbase... That honor still goes to Superman fans/anti-fans, imo.

So, you're saying you're one of the most toxic posters on the site.

Worst Fanbases:

Disney
Marvel
Star Wars
DC
Superman/Superman haters
Dragon Ball
One Punch Man

I do agree with you that Disney have shitted on the source materials. With Luke being the prime example. But then you look at what the fans did to the kid that played young Anakin in the PM, and the actor that portrayed Jar Jar. That’s not only juvenile, that’s also sick.

Fixed.

Also about the new trilogy.
It's always a good thing when you add and expand with new and refreshing ideas to an existing franchise.
The problem is that They have done a fuqing terrible job doing this.
Especially the new characters.
Also and most importantly the wrong people have been in charge of the new trilogy, when we have seen when you put the right people in charge, the kind of content they can produce.

Don't tell me you're so f*cking gullible.

Ahmed (the guy playing Jar Jar) was clowning on the Internet, his "sad story tweet" means absolutely nothing, as he used it to advertise his business...

"Would this be a good story for my solo show?"

Ahmed is nothing more than a cheap attention whore. Wake up, Squall.

As for Jake Lloyd, you're probably right. Though it was far more than Star Wars that messed up his life.

I hope he doesn’t get a solo show facepalm

To be fair, he's hardly the only celebrity that does such cheap marketing moves.

Whether they are tweets, FB posts or whatever... celebs try to sound honest, tell their sad stories that normal people can relate to... only to advertise their concert / new song / new movie at the end of their post.

Ahmed wasn't even subtle about it 😂

Actually I dont think that was fans. It was the media and movie pundits that gave Ahmed Best hell. And Jake Lloyds hell came mostly from school bullies.

Gave him hell?

Lmao, dude couldn't care less about the criticism or Phantom Menace/prequels hate in general.

It got him famous and he's still using it to promote himself..........

Yikes.

Ahmed Best has said he came close to topping himself. And Jake Lloyd was defo bullied about Star Wars through school.

None of that has much to do with toxic fans though, which is my point.

This whole Star Wars fans are toxic narrative has been going around. But I dont see them complaining much if at all about Mandalorian or Fallen Order. Its just Abrams, Johnson and Disney making excuses for why theres massive hate towards the sequels.

What about Hayden Christensen taking a lease from acting? Didn't that kinda have to do with all the toxic fan backlash in how he ruined Vader? (their words, not mine)
