What about Hayden Christensen taking a lease from acting? Didn't that kinda have to do with all the toxic fan backlash in how he ruined Vader? (their words, not mine)
Again Was mostly the critics and movie pundits that ruined his career.
The fans gave him a huge reception when he turned up at comic con.

And in the very same tweet he went full attention whore and asked if it would be a good story for his solo show 😂C'mon.

Not that Kelly Tran deserved all the harassment she got over her character either, some of which got racial.
From what I recall Fans just hated the whole Anakin/Padme stuff in AOTC. But generally found Haydens performance to be far better in ROTS, and I even recall him winning the best villain category for that at the MTV movie awards (all fan rated).
And btw even Natalie Portman has said she struggled to get auditions during and after the prequels. So the difficulty for these actors mostly came from Hollywoods negative stigma towards the prequels, rather than from the fans.
It was both. I should know, I was one of the Anti-Hayden people, and I wasn't alone. It didn't help that he was also put in to the Jedi re-release as that ****ing ghost.
It did lessen some when ROTS came out, but it didn't disappear.
I do feel like that while the prequels do have serious issues, certain things, upon rewatching them, aren't nearly as bad as once thought. Anakin and Padme in AOTC is still shit, mind you.
But I digress.
A "toxic" Star Wars fan is generally no more toxic than a toxic comic book fan or a toxic Harry Potter fan. There's just more of them, and they're all focused on a much smaller set of things because as big as Star Wars is, 12 movies and a handful of TV shows in 40 years really isn't a lot.

I remember. So we can expect similar to happen to ep7-9 in 15-20 years.
Honestly, I dunno. As much as the sequels might **** with the lore in ways that people don't like, they still have some serious problems on the general film-making side of things. And they lack, at least imo, a lot of the positives that the prequels did bring to the table.
