Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Will try to enjoy ep 9 for whatever it is, but yeah, I can see the ST being mostly just forgotten as time goes on, even if the hate for it eventually diminishes. If they keep doing better with other Star Wars projects, be it spinoff films or other shows, etc, the ST will especially be buried in the hearts and memories of people... Not dissimilar to how the Clone Wars shows, games, and such are more remembered by me than the prequel films themself I guess.

And yeah, to be fair to Hayden, it would be hard to take anyone/any actor seriously with grade A dialogue like "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!".

Or "I don't like sand."

Fans ****ing hated Hayden back in the day. It's softened now, sure, but back then it wasn't pretty.

Notice how prequels, despite all of their flaws, are a meme goldmine.

It really matters because the whole story of the prequels actually did well. Yeah the acting at times sucked, the cgi was over done, and jar jar was horrific. This new trilogy has ****ed everything up, story, characters, plot, you name it. No saving this what so ever. Especially bringing Palpatine back?!? I mean I thought solo was decent until I saw Maul at the end. I mean cone on Disney

Why you didn't like Maul's appearance at the end?

Because Kenobi cut him in half. Idk, I know everyone has an opinion but I just thought it was lazy and crappy imo. It honestly pisses me off that Disney has flourished and has done so well with marvel that they think they can just do anything with Star Wars and it’ll be a hit

Because Kenobi cut him in half.

And survived, He appears on the Clone Wars show.

Maul was brought back in TCW pre-Disney.

But I can see the stupidity to it from a casual fan point of view. Especially when they never explained/explored it further in live action. Silly thing to just tease then toss aside.

It was both. I should know, I was one of the Anti-Hayden people, and I wasn't alone. It didn't help that he was also put in to the Jedi re-release as that ****ing ghost

I get that, but I doubt you or other fans bullied the guy into quitting acting for good.

It’s stupid, imo no matter who brought him back. Is Mace hanging out on some bar in Coruscant?

Well he eventually gets killed off for good, Kenobi and Maul have a rematch on Tatooine.

Its heavily explained through a multi story arc.

Remember Vader also survived a brutal chopping up and burning up.

Mace is a Jedi (with presumably a pure soul) so wouldnt cling to life to such an unnatural level. He would just accept his time has come.

But again I can see the stupidity/confusion for casual viewers when his return is just randomly teased to them like that.

It’s stupid for any viewer, regardless of they are casual or not. Bringing back dead characters is almost always stupid. It was dumb when they did it with Maul. And it’s dumb when they did it with Sheev.

I think it was a contributing factor. I mean, not me personally unless he was on KMC back then, but still.

Also, **** y'all, Mace could have survived. Jedi have survived worse.

Sam Witwer was the best thing that ever happened to Darth Maul, too. Movie/TPM Maul was a non-character.

Dumbest one was Boba being alive via EU nonsense.

Meh. Boba and his death were such inconsequential parts of the films it never really bothered me.

That was until they decided to bring back the Emperor. Apparently an old man, who needs a cain to walk, can survive being tossed down into the reactor of an exploding moon-sized space station.

He did, but... he was brought back in both EU and Disney canon, so it would be dumb not to acknowledge that.

And there's not much story left to tell...

I mean, we know how it ends - he gets killed by Obi-Wan on Tatooine... in the episode named after the non-canon comic which had the same result (Mau's death at the hands of Ben).
