Trump is more of an opportunist than a racist too me. He does what benefits him the most in the long run.

I think he's an extremely talented film maker and in 20 years I think TLJ will probably be regarded as the best film in the trilogy and one of the best Star Wars films in existence.

Just back from it. It's a mixed bag. All the scenes with the emperor are awesome. His appearance and voice depicts him as far more sinister than ever. Finally get to see his extreme power.
They brought in yet more new characters and they aren't as bad as Rose. There's still almost no chemistry between any of them and for me that's been the biggest problem with the whole trilogy.
The number of characters that die then undie is stupid.
The plot jumps all over the place with some aspects being so short and pointless they'd be as well not being in it. Perhaps that could be fixed with an extended director's cut.
I'd give it a 6/10

Honestly, the gap is so small for me that it's not worth arguing about.
TBH, I feel like that should have been at the very start of TFA or even TLJ. It would have made it a lot easier to explain certain things.
