This is what happens to The Glinting Bastard but THIS time with one punch!

Not surprised you're here to low-key argue against Superman.

You give too much credit to these people. The fact that you said "just as likely" proves your intentions.

Kal-L blew out a star(well Golden Age Superman, which would apply to Kal-L by retcon but I digress), and the scene indicated Superman knew what would happen if he sneezed, not Mxy amped him. Or do you think Superman would have flown the distance he did if Mxy increased his powers without his knowledge? Given what you're trying to argue, he'd leave the atmosphere tops.

Similarly, I'm surprised you took nearly 20 hours to leave a response to me here. Perhaps even somewhat disappointed and concerned; you used to be more reliable than some of the timepieces I've owned.

Regarding this particular issue?

Ultimately too much inconsistency to warrant much time on this.
And too hard to search. Probably take as much effort to find it as it did to find Wonder Woman's solo moon pull, 'cause people are absolutely LOUSY about providing reference information.
At least thanks to the following thread I know that Mxy-amped Galaxy sneeze occurred in Action Comics #273:

https://beta.comicvine.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/superman-the-sneeze-1845359/

PC Superman and the sneeze that shook the universe was one of those silly moments in comics, and could easily be classified as an outlier type feat. After all, it was an extremely rare showing. All the same, he was certainly above the top Herald pay grade. The Silver Surfer being the top tier Herald of that era came close to mirroring many of PC Superman's average showings but he was never quite as resilient to all of the things that PC Superman could withstand.

The answer to the OP is simple. No Herald, not the Juggernaut, Surfer, Thor, or even present day Superman could withstand the ridiculous amounts of power that PC Superman could muster in his most powerful punch.

Butterball.

He did the same thing to Superman. Only he was calling himself Mongul. 😉

Thanos would do what he did to the Surfer to Mongul, and perhaps even easier. Mongul is not DC's version of Thanos.

Starlin even wrote the exact same speech bubble pattern. Same as Synarr.

He couldn't be exact, obviously, but it was pretty obvious Starlin copies from a template..

Er, ok.

I read the entire thread. Terrible argument. His entire argument rests on the assumption because they keep saying magic, that it means the sneezing powder amped the sneeze. He says "what was blatant" and "clear" but it requires reaching to conclude that. The only thing made clear was it being magic meant Superman could be affected by it. His defense about others not sneezing significantly because..... Superman inhaled a lot more, requires ignoring that it didn't show to do anything more than make them sneeze. No indication their sneezes were amped. He even brought up Superman can't sneeze on command as if it's relevant to this being a feat of power.

You try to argue because Mxy has messed with Superman's powers before, but the scans(of the sneeze) show no indication that Mxy is trying to mess with Superman's powers. So nope, all we see is the sneezing powder just made him sneeze, not amped it.

Whether it's an outlier or not, OP says this.

So I'm thinking he had using Superman's feats like this in mind.

Well that was a sneeze, and not a punch if ya wanna be technical about it. Outlier it is then, nuff said.

but also first read of a different instance where someone with pre-Crisis Superman-level powers sneezed ...

... and the solar system, planet, country, state, city, and even most of the street they happened to be on remained just fine afterwards.

What is this even supposed to prove? Jimmy Olsen is who sneezed there, and Mxy had just given him "SOME OF" Superman's powers beforehand.

Surprised Baz is not here to low ball.

Well earned as he is one of the biggest haters I have seen on any board.

Which is saying a lot.

Does he?
One more reason to think he sucks.

Jimmy Olsen, as the first person to touch Clark after Mxy's spell was cast, specifically directly lifted a full three-fourths, 75%, of Superman's powers:

If 100% of a pre-Crisis Superman sneeze would take out a solar system, then even 50% of a pre-Crisis Superman sneeze should take out planet Earth.

It doesn't, and Jimmy has NO reason even subconsciously to check his sneeze, not even having been aware that he HAD Kryptonian power at that point.

So the solar system destroying sneeze is either an EXTREME outlier as far as Pre-Crisis Superman is concerned, or the idea that his sneezes would do that on their own is wrong and Mxy's Magic accounts for the ridiculous joke-level magnitude of the sneeze's power.

Grounded.

Best heralds to take one of his punches are his Pre-Crisis peers IMHO.
