Pretty cool:
"So when we see Maul fighting... it's really Maul fighting" Well yes but actually no. TPM Maul was a badass, taking on Obi Wan and Qui Gon at the same time and all that. This Maul instead for some reason can disarm Ahsoka, but just when she is in the most defenceless position, he gets clumsy as me with his lightsaber

To be fair, he got beaten by a Padawan because he was a dumbass. It's not like there's not precedent.
Yeah, I mean most of Maul's losses in canon can be chalked up to him doing something stupid, and not finishing his opponents when he had the chance.
-Could have killed Kenobi in TPM, but didn't because he went full-tard.
-Could have killed Kenobi again in TCW(after Satine's death), but didn't because he went full-tard.
-May have been able to kill Ahsoka in TCW if he had struck immediately after disarming her, but didn't because he went full-tard.
-Could have killed Kanan in Rebels with a simple Force push, but didn't because he went full-tard.
etc.

You think he would have learned after the 1st time, when you colossally screwed up, you need to start re-evaluating what you're doing wrong. Looking at this, it makes Maul seemed extremely stupid in combat because he does it over and over again, they could have at least done something different then hand him the idiot ball time and time again.
But I digress.
Anyway though on another point, now that everything is settled. Does anyone else feel like the lightsaber fights throughout TCW were(not counting this Ahsoka vs Maul, haven't seen that)...how do I put this? They were...
Like ok you know how, you can tell when someone is superior to another or that they have an advantage? I never really saw any of that within TCW, apart from perhaps....3 total fights?
The Sidious vs Maul & Savage
Anakin vs Barriss
and Dooku vs Maul & Ventress
I dunno...maybe it's because I guess many of the fights seemed like they were Dooku vs Anakin and Obi-Wan, which if I'm honest I never particularly liked and the same with Grevious vs Obi-Wan. I felt like none of the fights seemed truly any different on who was better, they all seemed more or less even, apart from the afore mentioned.
Maybe it's because there were so many lightsaber battles, that they just seemed to blur together and that, did it really matter if they fought a day or a week apart? I dunno.
Like what's the difference between lightsaber fight #6 to lightsaber fight #12?
I feel like it was the same with Rebels at times.
I'd probably throw Dooku vs. Asajj+Nightsisters in there, namely because Dooku was blind/weakened, and still stomped their collective asses.
But yeah, I see what you're saying. Loads of saber battles, but not a whole lot of clear dominance apart from a select few fights.
The Maul/Ahsoka fight is bar none the best looking saber battle of the series. I honestly didn't realize how much depth mo-cap would add to the animation. It's visually fantastic, even if you don't like how the fight itself went.
