I rewatched the episode. It was pretty cool. Tbh if they did avoid that moment with Ahsoka grabbing Maul’s saber and making him fall, but they did something more like the novel, it would have been perfect imo. But still a great episode and as some have said Maul has been great with all his talking about the Plan

On a different note, despite his poor performance, this was probably the most interesting Maul has ever been as a character. His conversation with Ahsoka was amazing. And, yes, the fight was beautiful. Probably the best looking fight since TPM.

Bad Batch was good. I don't get the hate. It wasn't a waste at all; it provided development for Rex one of the key characters of the series. But yes, that Ahsoka arc was terrible and yet, it is still better than DD.
It's getting hate because rex's development was pathetically executed, and the major payoff of the arc, echo joining the bad batch is given no set-up. I think we should have a higher standard of good than "well it tried to give development".
I'm actually shocked how kind everyone's been to this season. Ahsoka telling anakin that its dumb to defend the capital of the republic is utterly character destroying. First off, Ahsoka is willing to risk the life of her supposed friends from the last episode while using her experiences with them to cite that she's learned the jedi ut of touch(which off course wasn't actually what happened during that arc, but whatever). It has anakin, a character who would literally go on to kill kids for his wife completely calm about palaptine and padme being under threat.
These are not minor inconsistincies, these are defining features of the core characters getting blatantly contradicted in a single conversation.
TCW is a ****ing mess now.
Wait wait hold up. Ahsoka thought it was dumb to defend the capital of the Galactic Republic? I get that the Republic isn’t the most free corrupted government(but then what is?), but it’s still in the eyes of the average citizen the power that holds the galaxy together.
Not defending it would be extremely stupid and would have terrible repercussions.
