It seems the White House website has edited the transcript and has the full quote now. My concern was that, despite the fact that they did not apparently edit it, that they would leave the transcript as-is but they did not. I was off about this so my apologies.

Oh, of course. There's also Trump agreeing with Putin that there wasn't election interference. However, this thread is specifically about the White House editing transcripts and video. As far as I'm concerned, that particular issue is dead.

It was reasonable to assume it was intentional. This administration is utterly and easily capable of doing this, considering it's past and current track record.

Therein lies the issue though. The logic of "seems like some shit they would do so it must be true, no need to look too deep" has consistently caused the media to do shit like this.

And it continues to harm the credibility of the media.
