Was hoping for this. Wasn't mistaken. He was extremely tired by that point. Am sure you knew that 🙂
Edit: that was to Carv, btw. Interesting how no body picked up on him attempting BFR by pushing him into space, though. Curious!

Even at half power, throwing a ton out of orbit should be child's play. That's an excuse. Especially if you factor in how strong an elite Herald should be. If Rhino can punch someone out of orbit, a fatigued Superman should be able to achieve the same results, easily.
Why push him into something when you have enough speed to grab him by the arm, foot, or head and toss him in there. Yes, Doomsday is fast for his size but let's not pretend like he have anywhere close to Superman speed fts. I think they just ignored power levels to make the story interesting.

Oh, it wasnt towards me.
Nah. I saw you had posted almost at the same time as I did, but the sequence made it look like I was responding to you.
Even if they HAD put every single hero, would it have mattered? One would have had to dig out some pretty haxx powerset to deal with DD, I feel.
Strength obv wasn't working (you have the premier poster boy for strength on the scene). Speed wasn't going to cut it (the writers made sure to make it abundantly clear how fast DD was). Energy attacks were obviously tried, and all it did was make him more dangerous. TP maybe? I think Dubbilex tried that and he was just cast out (or maybe that was a diff storyline). Physical BFR obv didn't work, I don't know if DD even has a soul, so I guess one would have to Dimension BFR him. Magic also didn't work iirc, if Bloodwynd was meant to be magical (or was he meant to be J'onn?)
Incidentally, dimensional BFR is exactly what Batman came up with to defeat DD, to the Phantom Zone, so other avenues of attack obv weren't working.
Rhino punching someone out of orbit...

He wasn't at half power though. He was so exhausted he couldn't even fly, lol.
That's like....pretty tired. He couldn't even LIFT HIS OWN WEIGHT. That's how exhausted he was by fighting Doomsday
Are you sure you've read the story?

But in the same scene he withstood a full out kick from Doomsday.
Also, the scene you posted where he threw Doomsday, lol, he FLEW after him.
Are you sure you're comprehending what's going on in the book your posting?

Yes, lol.
Superman was exhausted. A couple of pages after throwing DD, he was so drained he couldn't even fly to save himself.
Your post said 'even at half strength', when in fact, he was way below half strength. Even his most basic of powers was gone a couple of pages later.
And don't forget: whilst this was happening, DD was still as fast, strong and durable as ever.
Where did you get half strength from? Were you just plucking that number out of thin air to boost your argument?

Tbf to Superman, like Riv said, he was pretty dumb....I must be getting punchy!
Doomsday was hitting him so hard and he was draining so rapidly, he was actually getting punch drunk, lol. Hard to come up with clever battle plans when one is punch drunk, I reckon.
Plot made him fight like a dummy. He could have thrown him into outer space at the start.
FASTER than Flash, you noobs 😛
