Voldemort has many options in terms of spellcasting, but it won't matter when Palps has superior physical stats, telepathy, and precog to block spells with his lightsaber or TK away Tom's wand. Combine that with some simple surefire to end the fight in seconds:
A) speed blitz Tom with his lightsaber
B) TK Tom into the ground, the ceiling, and walls until he is pudding
C) Force lightning Tom
...and Riddle is a dead man. Palps knows what Voldemort is going to do before Voldy does it, and takes one of the above options to beat Mr. Riddle.
