Ares can both fly and teleport. Ares can control metal and use Hela's blades against them. Ares has the power of wind. Ares can hit either with lightning. Should we assume either are completely immune to Ares Lightning?

At no point did the movie ever state that she gets more durable while on Asgard, that is just you making things up.

The movie states that she gets more powerful on asgard. Hela was affected by lightning on Asgard. She has a healing factor on Asgard which allows her to recover.
If for some reason Ares can't hurt her with lightning or her own weapons then the fight becomes a stalemate.
