Virtue signalling a term used by the far right to try and shame morality.

The Far-Right has two problems in its attempts on social media to break previously almost universally held concepts of morality and equality.

The first is the vernacular used to describe the far-right; once used, they are labelled as what they are and their power is removed as certain names hold a great historic power to shame.

The second is many views are almost universal even on social media, where they have through constant shaming attempted to remove sentiment and make people feel that deeply held ideas are actually not deeply held, such as equality of sex, race etc. and when moral people state this is immoral as good people should never stand by and do nothing when confronted with evil, rightists try and shame those idea's they have no answer to as virtue signalling. It isn't and equality isn't wrong.

Women, Muslims and ethnic minorities are not evil, although each group can have evil people in it. I even believe occasionally rightists can be good people, misguided, but good.

What about the Lefts use of the Terms "Cuck" and "InCel" ?

What does that say about them?

Or should I just erase this and start its own thread so as not to derail this one?

I will wait for the MODS EDICT!!!!!!!

If I make an OK gesture am I racist? I should ask a brazilian.

If your skin is WHITE, you don't have to worry about wondering if you are RACIST or not.

I disagree with you somewhat and I think you'll agree with argument. 🙂

Virtue Signaling - A term originally used by leftists to mock the religious conservatives especially the hypocritical Christian Evangelicals.

Just lately, the SJW crap has taken off in the last 20 years. It is a cultural explosion from the 90s ultra-politically-correct race that made the sweeps through government, education, and corporations from the 80s-90s. What we are seeing is the children of the 80s and 90s, raised with this ultra politically correct beliefs, becoming adults and these adults having children who are almost adults.

And now, due to the decades of this SJW stuff, the virtue signaling has gotten out of hand and we got Trump as a result. Trump is the backlash, the counter-culture, to this SJW virtue signaling trend. And the SJWs appear to be entrenched and difficult to change. While the younger people, the Gen Zs, are casually calling each other "nigga" all the time for no rhyme or reason. Something even my generation didn't do despite how relaxed they were.

Until the SJWs age out or change, we will keep seeing people like Trump and Kanye having a strong voice and power. People will continue to say and do counter-culture things. The anti-Politically Correct people are the modern day hippies. The counter-culture.

Virtue signaling isn't about having morals. It's about going "HEY LOOK AT ME AND MY MORALS! DO YA SEE 'EM? THE MORALS? DO YOU SEE THEM?"

You look like a little putz if you're too stupid to get this. The same type of person who would say people upset over political correctness are just mad they can't act like pricks, when it goes beyond that.

If you want to see examples of virtue signaling just tune into any hollywood award show from the last few years.

I'd say some truth to what you say, they are a counter-culture, but more like Oi or the British Skinhead movement than Hippies because the Rightist youth have been indoctrinated with an old trick, they been given folk devils to hate. As a result, their morality has been subverted, and compassion is seen as weak. Political correctness isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than the opposite, it's an agreement of basic moral boundaries replacing the codes of religion at the basic level. Thou shalt not call someone a ******, not because you'll go to hell but because the collectively accepted rules of the culture say it's wrong. Except, the kids are told you can say what you want; this, is counter to societies hidden socialisation anyway - as from the moment we are old enough we are told calling people names etc. is wrong, for obvious reasons. But if you hammer home the idea someone is below you, someone is out to get you; someone is stupid, stupid people will believe it. The Rhetoric of these kids is different to the counterculture inspired by young people finding they had freedom and money for the first time. This is more like Moseley or Enoch Powell, even dare I say it, like the Hitler youth for these people, they've been told up is down, and bad is good.

Does anyone here, aside from DMB, have an issue with this?

Christians do virtue signaling like a motherf*cka.

One time they gave me this wine and told me it was the blood of their god...true story.

That's because true Christians will try and live to a moral code.

I was 8 when I first feasted upon the blood of a deity. Good times.

I'm a total atheist but I have no problem other people believing what they want as long as it doesn't affect me.

Either that, or they're simply good people who happen to be christian.

As I've lost more relatives and family, I've heard more widowed husbands admit they only attended services for their wives sake. The afterlife, for them,
a comfortable myth.

Pretty sad hearing your grandfather tell you that, after losing his beloved.

But he is a good man. He lost more money giving near strangers handouts, so they could buy groceries.

How do you feel about adults pressuring an 8 yr. old to drink the blood of a deity?
