The term Virtue Signaling doesn't really have much of a meaning anymore. It may have at one point, but like many other terms co-opted by the right to use as a buzz term/dimwitted insults, like politically correct or social justice warrior, it means nothing now. At this point the term virtue signaling just means a person presenting an argument or idea that makes them seem like they might be a decent person, which upsets the right now, for some reason. Just like politically correct can mean anything from people trying to ban controversial speech to just thinking you should not be an ******* to people for no reason. As soon as stupid people attempted to weaponize these words, they lost much of their meaning and their value.
