Yep, Dems really had no real shot at the Senate, this map was ridiculously favorable for the gop, at this point the dems just need to halt the bleeding for potential gains in 2020, which is more favorable to them.Still, Trump's agenda is largely DOA now, and there is now checks and balances upon his presidency, he'll have to adjust to avoid being a lame duck. Also this provides protections for Mueller, for if Trump were to fire Mueller, the Democratic house could simply rehire him and he could continue his investigation until completion.
On the flip side, with the GOP expanding their majority in the Senate they will have an easier time appointing judges and what not.
And impeachment goes through the senate if I remember correctly...
