The funny thing is on Grendel Carnage (who's basically Carnage + 1 of those dragons) not even hellfire worked. And of course that these are not even Knull symbiotes. They're Phage, Agony, Lasher and Riot.

It's the usual comic trope. When they first appear, new threats are challenging and seemingly all powerful. Then as time goes by, especially as they start interacting with the wider universe, they start getting jobbed.

Unless they're Constantine, whose stock really rose when he started interacting way more with the DCU.

Thanos had a good few decades where he seemed immune to that.

The jobbing started right around the time Jim Starlin let go of the reigns.

We got a chance to see the One Below All again in Immortal Hulk #42. 🙂

With more confirmation he's not = TOAA🙂

Isn’t this out of context ownage for the other thread?

Seems deceitful. Scream had to blast them from the inside and they already started reforming. It took an amped Sunfire to kill one dragon from behind but I think it had it less to do with fire and more with just raw power. Previously, it was beating up him and Magneto for reference. We’ll see how it goes.

They have none of the weaknesses according to the main title. Which is stupid, earth has no chance.

Like 15 of those dragons could conquer Earth, and he has hundreds of thousands.

Deceitful?

As I said ,I could have used Fixit with hairspray can.

You also forgot Thunderbolts.

An amped Jessica Drew also took one out. I think the writers kinda wrote themselves into a corner.

And you mention Sunfire, so you have read Sword. So would know the mutants casually blasted one in space (a trifling matter).

Exactly, lol. But apparently we're being nice and consistent across all titles.

Lol, I legit think Carver triggers a drop in your IQ points. The very next pages says they’ve travelled the Stars and she gets owned. What is that, if not deceitful?

That’s like posting the first half of Superman vs Grundy as evidence Superman has no real combat speed or something.

Your point about having better examples suggests that my hypothesis on Carver (Maybe he gives off some unique radiation like a Hulk you’re vulnerable too) is true. I’m not sure about the Fixit example, but in Thunderbolts, again it required some type of big gun and a lucky shot. I think it has more to do with power than weakness. Or maybe I’m wrong. Regardless, the symbiote immediately starting to move suggests that might be the case.

I have no horse in this race, just commenting on the odd stances.

Why do you say this?

That issue had a lot to unpack. Not sure what it all means yet.

.

I was discussing your implication of their vulnerability to fire with an utterly terrible example. That was the Carver post you quoted.

This is a whole other argument about trying to lowball the threat which I’m not trying to pursue.

I forgot about how things go for a moment. Carry on.

I’ll add an asterisk that the Peak has some amazing weapons/tech (It casually did what Krakoa heavy hitters had trouble doing for a reason).

Lol oh my, the insults start already. Note I rarely (if ever) join in the insults on you, even with the whole Somalian thing. But stay classy.

Back to your points. As you yourself said, 15 dragons would be enough.

I just named....Drew (who isn't exactly the most powerful ,even with her amp), a random space gun from Sword, a random person from Thunderbolts......you then mention an amped Sunfire.

That's four characters/items who aren't exactly big guns in any lineup.

This is all a bit tongue in cheek, but your analogy is completely off. Carvers initial post was that FIRE didn't affect them (and he didn't even talk about dragons, but symbiotes in general).

I then post......fire affecting them lol. And if you don't know the Fixit example, go educate yourself - you seem perfectly able to get comics on your own. In it, Fixit uses a store stereo (so not some Reed invention or whatever) set to max, then a hairspray (?) can and lighter to defeat a symbiote.

Am pretty sure Gwenom does in her book, but I haven't read it yet.

Because TOBA needs an actor or puppet to work through.

TOAA doesn't, unless something has been retconned.

Does what? weakness exploit? If you mean that no, the book is just trash overall. She uses her teleporter to get back into her universe and pulls the dragon symbiote with her and then that symbiote takes over the Mary Jane of her universe, which makes the title and logic used the worst of all tie ins for me. Gwenom vs. Carnage, who is actually a random non Carnage symbiote with a non canon Mary Jane as the host facepalm. At least they can't make Kletus job to feminism this way.

Lol yeah, I haven't read it, I just assumed because it was fan fav Gwenom (I knew it wasn't THE Cletus though...think it was in some preview where I saw the design).

But from those scans, yeah it looks trash lol. Quite....filler-y.

Anyway, I enjoyed the Thunderbolts. Batroc is hilarious as always.

I saw the preview cover in a Marvel previews book, I knew it was going to MJ but I thought it would be at least 616 MJ with the original Carnage symbiote, who's alive and well at this point.

Thunderbolts had some moments for laughter but overall I thought it was bad written too and the art was atrocious except for 1 very nice drawn page. Batroc had his moment to shine though 😂

Who's the woman at the end of the X-Men book? Rogue? Domino? I can't tell.

EDIT: Overall it was obvious that not all dragons operate at the level of the Grendel symbiote, even though it was then same as all the others, Ninja rule applies, like in basically every event. An army of Absolute Carnage level symbiotes would have taken over with no problem, going by logic they could symply take everyone over, literally the entire planet is covered with them.
