The same stance I've had for like, ten years now. That an interview can be used as supplementary evidence to reinforce a panel, but can't be used to contradict it because the panel is god.

I mean, I can put it in the rules thread, and I don't think any of the other mods would disagree with me, but I thought we all had an understanding.

👆

If the interview cements/details what was actually shown in the comic itself, without contradicting anything, then it should be usable as supplementary evidence.

However, interviews in and of themselves cannot be used to contradict/alter/retcon published material or preexisting continuity. That's not how it works in this medium.

Have you checked Marvel Database to see if they consider it to be happening on Earth-616?

Can't really find any universe number

Doesn't look canon.

I take it as implying anti-matter universe is a multiverse in itself. Given it outside normal positive universes and it is meant to balance the creation. So it actually is an equal to positive universes in size seems pretty plausible imo
The Anti-Matter universe has always been equal in power to the positive matter multiverse -- that much was established back in the original COIE.

But this part of the quote sure sounds like a description of the Dark Multiverse to me: "a vast Anti-Matter universe, in which new, divergent realities form from dark matter in a Forge of Creation triggered by the actions and choices of living beings within the Multiverse."

Your grammar was better than mine, so I'll use that.

Now, I need to ask everyone for examples. Both of interviews that can and can't be used. I have a couple in mind already, but I'm open to other ideas.

In the for column, the first one that came to me is Superman in the Sacrifice story, and Rucka's comments in relation.

In the against column, I'm planning to use Jim Shooter's comments about the infamous "Hank slapping Janet" scene.

But like I said, if anyone has more examples of interviews that can or can't be used, please let me know.

Absolutely can be used:

Whenever Moore/Delano/Milligan/Azzarello claim to have met John Constantine in real life.

Absolutely cannot be used:

Any interview that Carver uses to bolster his point.

Usable: Things like Morrison going in depth on his works in Final Crisis and Multiversity. He is fleshing out some of the characters/concepts he introduced within those stories, without contradicting any elements from established continuity.

Non-usable: Things like Pak saying that Hulk would beat Superman. The man is just giving his [biased] opinion on the matter, which obviously holds no validity whatsoever.

At the end of the day, what transpires in the actual comic books reigns supreme -- that is the *only* true canon. In this medium, published material cannot be overridden by random interviews or Twitter posts. The latter should only be used as supplementary evidence if/when they align with what was stated or shown on-panel, in the issues themselves.

...That's my two cents, at least.

Does it work like that? I mean are there links with let's say Carnage (Cletus Kasady Earth-1288)?

You've spent 12 years with us in this gay prison and you still can't navigate through one of the most primitive marvel sites on the web?

Yes, it works like that 😛

But that book is quite fresh, so you might want to wait a while before sounding sure about it.

Example:

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Thor:_For_Asgard_Vol_1_1

I'm still not convinced, can you make metal rip noises?

Sorry, no. I'm all out of tin foil.

Hard times.

But be careful guys, that means Sin will go forumbreaker on us 🙁

in your opinions, who is the best character artist? like who draws a certain character THE best?

Can’t think of the best at the moment. But for the worst, any character John Romita jr. draws. His art is the equivalent of Bendis’ writing. He just doesn’t give a shit.

Also does anyone remember the comic where young Thor hits someone through the earth? Because the artist on that had to be trolling everyone when that trash was published.
