Are online comics canon?
Some are, some are not.
What you should be asking is why we still have that archaic rule making the comics released-strictly-online unusable on our forums?
Nobody obeys that rule, of course, but it's still there.
Same with the interviews. Even Pr doesn't like how Digi worded it out.
Fortunately, both Marvel & DC like to get *most* of their online books printed, sooner or later. Most, but not all. Those specifically made for mobile apps are problematic.

Hm
What is the book called?
Have you checked Marvel Database to see if they consider it to be happening on Earth-616?
Deadpool, Shiklah and Blade or Wolverine and Silver Samurai Junior were both made for mobile apps, but they were firmly placed in the mainstream continuity.
They are just not likely to ever get printed, so the ancient KMC rule prevents us from using them. Not that anyone cares.

Hey now, don't talk shit about me and then not answer me when I request clarification.
Also, peanuts are shit.
Learn to like them or keep forgetting things, gprandpa!
Regarding the interviews, we've been going in circles for years now. Nothing was achieved.
Some edits were made in the rules thread, but it's still ambiguous and people do whatever they want to do (e.g. DS disregarding every interview ever made or Alberto-like hard-asses harassing writers till they get the answer they desire).
What is your official stance on it now?

The same stance I've had for like, ten years now. That an interview can be used as supplementary evidence to reinforce a panel, but can't be used to contradict it because the panel is god.
I mean, I can put it in the rules thread, and I don't think any of the other mods would disagree with me, but I thought we all had an understanding.

No, there is still no consensus in that matter.
