Hey, does anyone know who Grimjack is?

Written by John Is granted in the 80's? Same time frame as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Mirage.

Ostrander. John Ostrander co-invented and wrote Grimjack.

Think a lot would like the character. He's essentially a quintessential mercenary with a heart of gold arch type that used to be all the rage. Owned a bar in a nexus between realities, who's reality changed by city block.

In the director's commentary for RotS, Lucas stated that Mace beat/overpowered Palpatine during their duel, and further stated that Palpatine only began feigning weakness after Anakin entered the room(which was after he'd been disarmed.) There are also a few sources implying that Mace could have potentially beaten him, etc.

So I think you could argue that Mace may have been the better duelist in that moment... But Palpatine was obviously far stronger in the Force.

Thanks for the info...good stuff

Strangely enough, what with Shatter point etc, Mace is prob the more combat orientated of the two. Sidious had lightning, true, but Yoda and Kenobi showed a competent Jedi Master could deal with that.

Good point

Kenobi "Sith Lords are my speciality".

Gets completely owned by Dooku twice.

It's amazing he even gave Anakin a fight.

I knew I'd ****ing heard it somewhere. 👆

Try using the rock paper scissors logic instead of ABC, for a change.

Obi-Rock, Count Paper and Anakin Scissorswalker.

If you'd watched Clone Wars you'd know he's not wrong.

Also, the correct quote is "Sith Lords are OUR specialty".

If it's not important enough to make it in the movies, it may as well not have happened.

Same way Boba Fett is known for getting pwned by blind Han Solo against the hype.

Stop trolling, idiot.

Movies only? K. He still beat Maul and Anakin.

Obi 2:1 Sith Lords

At worst, it's 2:2, if you decide to count him throwing the fight in ANH.

Yeah, except no. It's canon. Kenobi has a ridiculously good record against Sith and their apprentices/acolytes.

Maul was a featless noob, pwned both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, and his defeat was poorly written.

Anakin was even worse written. And even accepting it, Obi-Wan never beat Anakin, Anakin beat Anakin.

How was he featless, if he gave Jinn a hard time on Tatooine and killed him on Naboo?

He didn't do a good enough job of "pwning" Obi, since he got bested by him.

Using the same "Todd-logic", Count was also featless and his defeat was poorly written.

Qui-Gon almost had a heart attack from the brief dual in the desert.

Mauls first appearance, so naturally featless.

EU is EU, only the nerds take it seriously. Movies are the only thing that matters in the long run.

Which shows you how formidable Maul was.

Qui-Gon showed plenty of battle prowess before that.

In his first appearance as a hologram, he was featless.

During the Naboo duel, we already knew damn well how powerful he was.

I played your "movies only" game, troll... and you got assraped.

You are literally begging for another ban.

Clone Wars, Rebels, Fallen Order and a multitude of other media aren't EU. They're canon.

What's now known as Legends canon is the closest to EU we have.

So no, you're wrong.

Except that's... Not how it works in SW.

If we're talking new/Disney canon, then everything is on equal footing. IOW, officially licensed comics, games, novels, TV shows, sourcebooks, etc. are just as canon as the films themselves.

Stop wasting your time.

In Todd's language, EU = anything that isn't the movies.

He doesn't get how Star Wars universe no longer relies on the old canon hierarchy system.

Anyway, we don't really need to use the feats from Clone Wars, as feats from the films are quite enough to prove cdtm wrong --- but he's covering his ears and eyes and going full retard mode, "I don't like it, it didn't happen", as usual.

Want more Todd nonsense, go to the covid threads or our Dragon Ball thread here, where Todd denied the existence of Apoc's sentient ships for two pages.

Lmao it's not even that.

This entire discussion stems from him being wrong and misquoting Obi Wan. Kenobi NEVER said Sith Lords were HIS speciality, he said they were THEIR (I e Jedi's) specialty.

Which isn't wrong.

Even if Kenobi was referring just to himself and Anakin... there's this little fact that:

Even if Kenobi's line was just referring to himself and Anakin, by the time of RotS they had fought Maul, Asajj, Savage, and Dooku multiple times... Hell, they even fought the Mortis Gods(if they count.)

So yeah, his statement was very accurate either way.
