Some genuine question. I admit that I was skimming through Rebirth Justice League run.
But then I just re-read it's The Extinction Machines arc, found out Superman was tanking the blows that only need no more than several hits to break the world.

The initial shockwave already caused global disasters and it's powers were growing

Superman then entered the earth's core and moved it into earth's inner core in order to destroy it while it caused oterh worldwide quakes.......Superman even tanked the second to last blow that would have shattered the world if not for the Kindred

But I don't see anyone talk about this, so I wondering is later issues have some information that counters this? or is I missing something in this arc?

You see kang was one character I never got into
His whole outfit is just yikessss

Which blows and honestly, this comic is by far one of Rebirth Superman lowest fts imo. It doesn't need to be discussed
Finally got around to reading Incarnate, and it sort of has me dreading how GEB will be depicted in his inevitable reveal.
Like, will Darkseid and TEH be depicted as literal arms that are snapped onto his body, with lesser characters like Extant, Prime, Gog, Doomsday, etc. acting as the fingers... And maybe Nekron and UpsideDown Man as as the legs?
I genuinely feel like they might go that route... GEB will be some stupid f*cking mecha, whose body is a composite version of every major villain, ever.

Ikr...and it had such promise. Something tells me Darkseid hasn't be turned yet

Originally posted by Sin I AMOh I'm sure Darkseid will ultimately contribute to the GEB's defeat. Could be something as simple as him 'reasoning' with it(like ST did), or could be him gradually asserting his will over the GEB, until he literally becomes the darkness -- which could very well be his endgame. /shrug

Oh hell nooo
I’m hoping that it’s more just metaphorical. More like what Mandrakk did
He talks through them
But with how the various villains have been depicted/described as the literal pieces of it's body(TEH=the right arm, Darkseid=the left arm, lesser villains=the fingers, Pariah=the voice, etc.), I just wouldn't be surprised if GEB appeared as some sort of abstract composite that incorporates all of them in its appearance -- like the Voltron Celestial on steroids.
Just makes things extra comical when you then think about something like that potentially setting the stage for the heroes of the multiverse to 'unite' in a similar way. Yuck.

I really don't *think* they'd go that route, but with how shitty DC has become, I'm still a bit concerned that they might. Hopefully not.
...Though now that I think about it more, it does seem likely that Darkseid will eventually usurp the GEB's power somehow. The implication is that Darkseid has always been aware of the GEB, and all of his machinations [from FC to now] have been slowly building up to him conquering GEB in some capacity... We'll see, I guess. /shrug
I am still waiting for [what seems like] an inevitable Mandrakk reveal, though. At this point, pretty much every other noteworthy villain has already been revealed as still existing as an aspect of GEB's totality, so why is Mandrakk(who was explicitly stated to be GEB revealing itself during FC) still absent..? Curious.

That's a terrible idea. Look what happened to Manhattan
